Nice thread:2thumbs:

Aus Mirrors have been covered AEF (http://gs01.games.gs.plat.n et.au/~arma/)

May i suggest Yomas addon sync which takes the headaches out of folder and @modline setup HERE (http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef3/forum/viewtopic.php?f=340&t=52410)
Most importanly the great Austrailians At War mod is hosted through Yomas addonsync HERE (http://ausarma.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=428)

Also items such as sound and visual effects i would class as addons, Mods are generally such things as ACE, PR and 1944 (http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=109 417)

Erm... I do really like the clarity of the OP.

However, we now have:

ArmA 2: OA, BAF, PMC Mods Patches & Addons

and

ARMA 2 MODS THREAD
http://www.bigdgaming.net/showthread.php?t=778 5

Howsat work?

I guess maybe that as OA is a standalone and that Arma/Arma2 is notorious for
add-on/patch/mod complexity - he was trying to completely separate the two issues
of Arma2 and Arma2:OA patch, mod and add-on issues.

Pretty much what Sandy said. OA is a standalone game with PMC and BAF as well. OA deserves its own thread because basically, it's a new game (well kinda).

Also, Right you are mr SNR :) I'll get onto those suggestions and the ones earlier. Keep them coming guys!

Updated 2nd post with patch details.

SNR I had a look for the AEF hosted patch for 1.02 but the directory only shows 1.01
It's only 3.16MB so it's no hassle getting it off O'seas mirrors though.

Thanks, also do you have the patch for the PMC v1.01? I believe you only have the setup files for that one. Its ~15mb so no biggie from OS again.

Ahhhh... that makes sense now... this is the OA thread!

I dunno what BAF and PMC is, but i figure they are DLCs (or some other TLA meaning the same as DLC).

Anyhoo, Maybe i'll ignore the other thread, cause i aint planning on going back to Arma2-native when I can play Arma2:OA.

Yeah, you figured my ruse Ed. Thanks for the heads up, I should probably add the other suggestions above.

BAF and PMC are downloadable content. BAF seems highly recommended by a couple of people here, and PMC seems to be a bit meh with people purchasing mainly to support BIS (and for the extra scenarios). I think they're both worth it as they're are(were?) pretty cheap.

Yes, "British Armed Forces" and "Private Military Company" are DLC's for Operation Arrowhead.
They are included in the patches for free as a 'lite' version, meaning that you get all the new soldiers, sounds, maps, weapons and the 1 mission but they are all in LOW quality. To unlock the higher quality textures for them and get the full campaign you have to buy the DLC's.

OK, so i've installed these sound mods today (but not BAF).

Q1: Arma moaned "JRSS_M242' requires addon 'CAWheeled2_LAV25' - wtf?
OK, so I can (and will) just go and fine the mission addon, but it seems very weird to me that this is a predecessor that nobody mentions anywhere.
It's also a bit weird that I haven't knowingly installed JRSS_M242.
Oh well, I'll just go and install the missing addon to remove the error.

Q2: Do I install JRSS BAF if I haven't purchased BAF?
I have BAF lite (comes with free patches). I don't see any reference, but I assume it's ok to install JRSS BAF on top of BAF-Lite.

Q3: Yoma Launcher, or Arma Launcher?
I used to use Yoma - but I also used to run ACE.
I dunno if I'll bother with ACE 'cause the servers i've been visitin aren't running it, and PR:ARMA aint gonna use it....
So, Arma Launcher looks nice and simple - should I use that, or Yoma?

Q4: How do you set the aspect ration for Windowed mode?
Whilst not really related, I"ll ask...
I'm running in windowed mode while i test addons, and play with my bits.
However, the aspect ratio is all screwy, and only fills half my screen at best. I have a widescreen (1920x1080 native). Id like the window to fill most of my screen, but the aspect ratio is fixed, and I can't... y'know.

Edit: dunno what I changed, but I can now set the window to any size i want... which is still a little less than ideal. I like the 'fixed aspect ratio' idea - just wish I could set it to 16:9 (or is it 16:10).

Im guessing you only have arrowhead and not arma2? iirc jarhead was made for CO (arma2 + arrowhead)

wouldnt really recommend it till you install baf, may still work though, baf lite uses all very low quality sounds, so they prolly have a different file name, hence it prolly wont do anything.

Ummm, not 100% sure but i think you can do it via the target line in the shortcut, cant remember what to type so just google.
