Ping Limit

I've been kicked quite a few times lately for having a high ping. Seems like my ping bumps around from 270 ~ 310; on a lucky day it goes down until 210. When the ping stays under 300 it's fine but when it bumps up over to 300 for a few seconds the server kicks me for being a high pinger. :scare2:
If I had a little more time I believe my ping would have come back to normal and stay under the limit.

So I was just wondering if it would be possible to change the ping limit on our Bigd servers. I am not 100% sure but I believe the limit is around 300 at the moment. Would it be possible to change the limit to around 320 or 330? Or maybe extend the time until the Server Kick Hammer kicks in?

I know the ping limit exists to block off foreign players with high pings that could actually ruin other peoples' games. But I suppose a slight change wouldn't matter much and the game is still playable up to 350.

Yes there are other servers that have lower pings but I do not want to play elsewhere than the BigDs.

I understand that it isn't an easy task to listen to every single player, especially foreign players like my case. I would Really Really appreciate it if it could be done. Thank You :guitar:

The current ping limit is 290.

What I am able to do is change the mm_kicker.pingLimit (the number of ping violations before a player is kicked) from 8 to a higher number which might be enough for your ping to stabalise and avoid being kicked.

290 is about the right number in our experience as it keeps out *most of the* players who are unable to be responsive to community and admin direction.

But will talk it over with the other admins.
