Help for a Nub

Hi guys,

I keep reading all these Life Mod posts and well I bought AOA, patch with the brit baf patch ages ago had a play but was kinda intimidated by the complexity and fell back to easy PR..

I have AOA and just d/l ARMA patch 1-1.08 so I where to now, I have read the mods guide but there's so much stuff out there in terms of sound mods etc.

So can I get a Noobs Tutorial idea of what I need to do to get in to a life mod and what should I do once I'm in there?

Life mods are easy. Don't need any of that fancy ass sound mod, GUI mod or flyingbear mod crap.

Just download addonsync, point the arma.exe's in the right directions and find the correct download link to put into it. (might want to find a proper walkthrough :P )

That tutorial will pretty much cover any other mod installation as well. it rarely varies

Some people swear by six updater instead of yoma. But both do pretty much the same thing in the end.

ACE and the like can all be downloaded the same way. Just need to find a server to download from and point addon sync in the right direction

I have AOA does the A2 launcher work with it?

And what does the sync thing do for me

You'll need to setup combined arms OA+A2 linked (combined arms)

The launcher is just for the mods, works fine either game.

Addon synch is where you download the mod/install it. (covered in the Island life thread)

You should be able to link it to the .exe files in your steam folder. Click the launcher options in the launcher and It should be there. (3rd tab)

Oh i read wrong. It's even easier if you don't have steam. DOn't even worry about Chanvlans video.
Make sure you point it towards the exe files, and you'll be fine.
Just make sure you select arma 2-CO in the dropdown box at the bottom.

So should I patch up to 1.95RC6 for AOA or stay at 1.75?

Can't seem to launch it using addon sync as unsure how to add the password in
