Thought i'd start a topic where we can share our tales of heroism on the battlefield.

I'll get the ball rolling with a mildly interesting sequence from last night.

Our US squad was on top of the dam at Jabal al Burj. I spawned on squad leader with light AT because an APC had just driven to the flag below us. I hear sniper fire close by and investigate. I climb over a hill to see a prone MEC soldier over-looking the dam. I sneek up and knife him. As I did this I hear another shot from the marksman. It turns out the guy I just killed was the marksman's ammo guy. I see the marksman a few metres away and he sees me. He makes the mistake of pulling his knife out and I quickly switch to my M-16 and waste him.

Remembering the APC that was down on the flag I peer over the ledge and fire my AT rocket, destroying the apc. I take the US Marksman kit off the soldier I just killed and proceed to the bridge flag on SL's order.

On the way to the bridge flag I encounter a sniper in the hills. We exchange fire, but I manage to kill him due to the relatively close range of the battle and the marksman's magazine capacity. I take his sniper rifle and give my marksman kit to a squad mate.

Finally, I discovered an MEC rally in the hills and covered it until my SL Joel-the-Bane could destroy it with 3 other squad members who were moving in from the north western flank.

nice post and by the sounds of it good team work.

Would love to hear more stories like this. Lets get some positive threads going that show all is not lost in the servers.

Was playing as MEC on Operation Pheonix, defending the Train CP. We'd started to get overrun by hostiles, so me and a couple of others headed north along the main round, then swung back east onto the train tracks. There is a small ruined building just behind the train, and this is where we found the USMC rally point.

My other squaddies destroyed the rally, but were taken out by troops that just spawned. Being a medic I had no explosives to clear the ruin with, so charged in, fired some bursts at one and turned to fire at the second guy in the opposite corner.

Click.

Turns out he had been firing at me too, and after I somehow managed to duck under his shots, he also ran empty.

As per natural reflex I press 2 to pull out my nonexistent sidearm. When it doesn't appear, I go to pull out my G3 and reload it, but upon seeing his knife drawn, I unsheath mine as well.

A tense second passes as we stare each other down, then charge and swing. We dance in the small confines of that ruin for a good sixty seconds, often getting hits and blood sprays on each other but it just not registering. Finally, as he goes prone to knife my leg, I crouch over him and stick him in the spine.

With that battle over, I head north as per squad leaders orders, and come upon three more troops heading into that same ruin. I pop up, shoot one running toward me, and get back down, bullets cracking the air overhead. I pop a smoke, then stand up and take down the second one - a squad leader - as he's running over the tracks. The third troop - a Special Forces soldier - emerges from the smoke firing full-auto at me and I quickly duck back down.

I knew he'd be charging at me now, so I jump up, aim, and fire.

Click. Again.

So I think, ah, what the hell? I pull out my knife and sprint full bore directly at him, as he advances still firing his M4. I don't know exactly how, but I close the distance without being hit once and stick him in the gut. He goes flying back, I'm guessing from shock.

After licking my wounds I then go on to find their second rally point, and use the last of my medic gun's clips to destroy it.

We need fraps to be optimised to the point where it can be turned on at all times!

Last night on Al Burj, same round as Rouge Leader, I was flying a little bird acting as transportation when I had to pickup I think was Joel. Landed on the road neat Bridge, but had to bail out just so the LB didn't tip..

Got back in, but had to sit that 30 sec warm up time, but a MEC soldier popped up and started putting down small arms fire onto the cockpit. If he was a better shot he would have taken me and Joel out, but he began throwing grenades..

First one landed short and missed.

Second one landed nearby and did a bit of damage to the LB.

He popped down his ammo, and both of us waited for the LB to charge up, and him with his grenades..

The LB was barely ready to go when I slammed down the throttle, and took off slowly just as the 3rd grenade blew on the road where we were..

We were playing Ghost Train last night as the Brits and we were getting pwned. The battle (in its final stages) was now focused on the Tunnel which the chinese were now infesting.

I drive the PUG? into the tunnel and waste a guy looking to the east with the machine gun. Another chinese keeps lobbing grenades at me so I get out and fire my RPG into the door. A few seconds later I rush in noticing about 5 people inside. I quickly kill the guy skulking in the right corner followed by a shotty wielding soldier lying prone on some pipes. At this point I recieve some backup in the form of two blue guys. In the ensuing battle I am the only one left standing with my newly aquired shotgun. I switch it for a Spec Ops M4 and wait for the counter attack.

Again I am alone as I camp the door from the top level. I take out 2 or 3 guys who make the mistake of sticking their heads inside. Then one guy makes it in and heads up the ladder. I pick him off as he sticks his head up. At this point the room is clouded in smoke, so I drop my SLAMs on the floor. The resulting explosion kills at least one unlucky Chinese.

One sneeky soldier tries to reach the second level by jumping on the boxes near the wall. I take him out as more chinese climb the stairs. I kill one but the second finally gets me.

A big thank you to all the Chinese soldiers who sacrificed their lives so that I could be No.1 on my team. (If I remember correctly)

One of those deaths was me for sure. It was a great round with a sila guy (forget who) leading 1 squad and me the other. And we had photoshop commanding. Squad 1 did well greying out tunnel which enebled my squad to take temple. After defending temple for a bit we all got itchy and made a dash to cap out the last flag - didn't work as brits took temple so we veered down that way to throw our weight in....didn't work but, we got hammered.

Whoever owns the inside of the tunnel owns that flag. All ya need is an engi to keep closing the doors, a S/L tucked away safe inside and 3 guns covering the door. This map is much more fun in the 64 player size.

That map can be so much fun, I love the jungle maps. So many times you get surprised and jump in your chair with a respawn countdown coming up on screen.

So that was you! I was leading the two Squad Leaders into the Tunnel room as Commander, and they took up positions when I noticed something on the floor. I thought it was C4, then I went to take a closer look. I promptly cried over Commander Channel "SLAMs! Get out of here!". Jumping behind a pile of crates, I put my hands over my ears and wait for the bang. Unfortunately, someone did not get out in time.

The unthinkable happened last night: the US won Fallujah!

We did this the only way I think is possible, which is to take all the MEC flags. The main reason for this victory in my opinion was our SL Visone. He, and possibly the commander, were thinking 1 or 2 steps ahead of the MEC. The first step was placing the APC out behind the canyon and putting a rally point up behind Outpost while we were still attacking the Village.

These decisions caught the MEC by surprise, not expecting us to come from behind their flags. Vis continued to do this right up until the last two flags where it isnt practical to place a rally behind enemy lines.

For me the highlight of the match was right after we capped the construction flag (2nd last flag). A wave of Blue and Green soldiers were rushing up the stairs towards the city and mosque. At that point I felt invincible.

Yeah that round was the best (my idea to put the APC behind the canyon) lol I'm such a credit whore +1 to Vis for the outstanding SL'ing best I've seen in ages we ALWAYS had a rally. In the best spots too.

Apologies Captain_Wolf. It was a great idea. Thanks to your APC the canyon became one of the easiest flags to cap. I can just picture all those MEC at the gate wondering where we were coming from.

Ohh nooo I had a rally up behind the very last flag as well, infact in the entire 50 or so mins that round went I think 15mins of it didn't see me placing rally's behind the enemy. Also the commander in question was [bD] Jerrif I believe always a top team player and he helped out a great deal and towards the last 15mins it was |ToG|Tubby I believe helping us to place arty on roof top enemy's and spot the last 6 or so players.

I had undoubtedly my best round ever on Greasy Mullet last night with a KDR of 30-0.

I began by spawning as a US engineer at outpost and headed straight for the south eastern bridge in a TOW hummer, anticipating an early attack on outpost. As I destroyed the bridge a Vodnik appeared at the other end. I quickly fired a TOW rocket into it, killing all six on board. A few minutes later an APC tries the same thing and suffers the same fate. A few minutes after that the MEC attack chopper comes to sort me out but falls victim to my TOW.

At this point Gurrillakiller(MEC) has ninja'd his way past Vehicle Outpost to neutralize Outpost. As I'm typing in my response to his insult I hear footsteps outside my hummer and scramble to run him over. I then drive to Outpost and get in a tank. I spent the next 25 minutes firing heat rounds and bullets at MECs at outpost, all the while defending against engineers trying to kill me.

After a while I decided to join Fallenplate in his tank down at Bunker. While there in my tank I destroyed 2 enemy tanks and I shelled their attack chopper.

The funniest part though was an enemy APC that casually drove up to and around my tank. I send one round into it and it catches fire. The crewman bailed and I gunned him down with my machine gun. I almost felt guilty because that APC driver seemed so naive.

The next round was Kynongang Ni and we as PLA had defeated the US within 15 to 20 minutes by taking all their flags.
