I have been involved, diminutively (as a tester), in the development of the single player maps for the 0.5 version of the mod. If you feel that you are interested to learn how to use kits and kit requests and/or get some practise flying (or whatever) - please warm up with the single player maps - most of the 0.5 maps have been converted and new players can practise their chops before playing MP. I have seen too many players firing willy-nilly/testing weapons on team-mates. I will hand out a one week ban to anyone firing on team mates for knowledge of their weapon or intentionally practising shooting at team-mates for any reason. It is unacceptable. Someone was doing it last night (Sunday 4/6/07) and they have been banned for a week. This is a reality mod; would you practise your weapons skills on real squadmates ?

Please consider the singleplayer maps. Set up a PR_SP directory (copy the whole PR directory and put all your SP map/config/etc. downloads into that mod). Most maps (including Helmand and Al Basrah) have been completed and are playing well. There is also a newer AI file to make the bots more aggressive and plenty of tweaks to the bots' flying and vehicle skills. There are also many new maps which feature only in the singleplayer version; you won't find them online - several of them can train different aspects of the skillset you will require to be a successful PR community member and player.

Look in here for downloads/links/info and the SP forum community:

(Yes, bots are generally dumb-as-poo - but (some of) the newest players in our online servers are attempting to simulate even greater incompetence. Please consider SP for learning and then use MP for teamwork and genuine fun and skill development. This isn't an arcade game/mod. In-game - most veterans/admins are friendly and will help you along as you learn the mod. You have SP tools and [bD] clan people to help you - use them, don't abuse them.)
