As cute as it is, I cant see them putting it in, even if just for balancing issues. I mean, can you imagine them AND manned blackwhores flying around on a map?? Perhaps by themselves but then this is a reality mod, I'm reasonably sure that air-cav and marine divisions arn't equipped with these.

no this is for the UK army not the USMC. i just want something like the LB to stay in the game. you cant drop ppl off on top of buildings with a BH. i see they have a Model WIP AH7 Lynx Helicopter in the Media Gallery tho i dont think it will get all the weps just 2 7.52mm guns or something, hell i would say that it would be over power with all the weps it can have.

I think they are going to mess up the game by taking them out this and ArmA are the only games that i no of with LB's in it. the BH is so hard to control. set it to US army then they can keep the LB coz they have Delta Force, oh and the Rangers.

oh i just had a read of this and my god they do seem more and more like a big Company (EA maybe)?
i think they are going to take Project Reality to far that they mess it up.

They've done that to stop people modifying project reality into something it wasn't meant to be. Short spawn servers, assets respawning every few seconds, no limit on limited kits, all those can be easily changed and are very detrimental to gameplay. Those servers invite all the people PR does not want playing. Some servers weren't listening to the requests of the DEV's to change it back to normal (or keep it the same but passworded so the general public can't access it), so now they've had to do this to enforce it.

You can, it's just that your a big flying, bullseye. The Lynx doesn't look that much smaller than the BH. Definitely bigger than the LB.

Hmmm sorry to say it, but eggman hinted to me that LB's are being phased out because it's not realistic for the USMC to have them -
I expressed my disapointment! :(

On the other hand the Lynx looks fantastic and with it's manouverablity factor and troop carrying ability would be great if they added it in PR. :)

But from the looks of it (like Lucid said) the Huey is most likely to be introduced to PR which I'm NOT upset about. :)

Anything has gotta be better than the BH. :D

Everyone knows my hatred of the US side in PR. Their only redeeming factor is the LB. Even on screwed up maps like Muttrah City I was happy to play US just because of the LBs.

The REAL reason the Devs are phasing them out is because they realised that people where actually having fun on the US side. Its apparent from all the maps featuring the US that the Devs hate the US army and want us players to hate them too.

Hueys will be a nice addition (if we ever see them) but nothing can match the manueverabilty of the legendary Littlebird.

LOL

...but then again, maybe you are right, Rogue Leader...

Calm down rogue leader!!

i actually find the blackhawk easier to maneuver than the LB. It's just because i'm used to its sensitivity, so when I pilot a LB I move too erratically and end up crashing. I also cant balance a hovering LB head-on with a hill, which is possible with a BH. ohh and i like the speed and armour of the blackhawk too. But of course, its just a matter of taste - i understand why people like the LB.

but yes i'm still disappointed the LB is going, because what will the US use as a recon chopper on Kashan? The MEC get that awesome eurocopter that makes an effective recon vehicle because 2 guys can sit on the side with their binoculars out.

looking forward to the hueys though. I hope they can carry 7 people

Not being able to be taken down by AA is also a great plus for the LB. :)

Realistically, 10. Pilot, Co-pilot, Crew Chief, Gunner and 6 tag alongs. So a whole squad :D

Now all they need to do is implement a co-pilot seat. If the pilot gets shot out, control reverts to the co-pilot without the warm-up time for the rotors......

yeah that sounds good! I like the idea of a co-pilot being useful.

BTW, they're going to put 8 seats in the Merlin, so its possible to have 1 pilot + 1 copilot + 1 full squad :D

Yeh it frustrates me that the co-pilot is virtually useless.

Would be cool if the co-pilot could designate landing zones/attack markers or something along those lines that would come up on the HUD for the chopper.

BF2 engine limitation is 8 to any vehicle, so unless they somehow manage to hack the crap out of BF2, we won't be seeing anymore than that.

I did hear that one of the dev's was going to try and hack in some more seats. :D

in the merlin the co-pilot has the high tech role of raising and lowering the ramp...(w/s-keys)

years of training are required for this important job....

"NO NO Don't press the "W" key like that, Do it like this.......

Yes that's better....Much better, Few more years of pressing it like that

and you'll be able to get up there with the big boys"

it would be the best if u were able to just stand in the vehicles like in the game Delta Force black hawk down there is only set spots for the gunners.

IT AIN'T SO!

I just had a mess around in Kashan Desert 64 and low and behold the Little Bird was there. It even came with mini-guns.

Not sure if its in any of the other maps but 1 LittleBird is better than none.

Both variants are still on the USMC vs Chinese map with the big river in the middle. As is a blackhawk.
