Al Basrah - Insurgency
British Forces have been tasked to take control of Basrah. HQ MND SW, along with a Coy of 2 RA has been established and reinforced at the Airport. 673 Sqn AAC are also on standby with Apache attack Helicopters. British Forces have now been tasked to move forward and establish Forward Operating Bases, with their main effort being to intercept the growing Insurgent problems in and around the city. It is believed the Insurgents are operating out of Basrah Palace, and have a variety of old National Army hardware in their possesion. Civilians still occupy the city and MUST NOT be engaged. Light Dragoon Recce patrols have reported that the Mosque is also a possible Insurgent stronghold, with numerous Ammo Dumps around the area. The mission is to bring peace back to Al Basrah, so it can be returned to the Iraqi people.
This is an Insurgency map. The USMC or UK team must clear the area of weapons caches used by the insurgents. Watch the in game Map and Messages for the location of Weapon Caches.
So, Al Basrah, yet with a twist. Instead of the usual Advance And Secure (AASv2) gamemode, the PR Dev's have created a new gamemode, called Insurgency.
What is Insurgency?
Insurgency is an objective based gamemode. The GB team must find and destroy 9 out of 10 ammo caches located around the map. The Insurgents must defend their gifts from Allah at all costs.
However, the ammo caches are not located in the same spot each round. No, they are instead chosen randomly from 87 different locations. This would make it surprisingly difficult for the GB team if they had to search all over the map to find a small ammo cache.
To make things more interesting, you can gain "intel" points to reveal to the USMC or UK the location of an ammo cache. When you gain enough intel points a circle is shown on the map giving an approximate location of the ammo cache. It can get confusing to which ammo caches your team has already destroyed, and what haven't been, so communication is vital.
Tip: The ammo cache can sometimes be slightly outside the circle, so don't limit your search radius.
To gain intel points, you can:
- Arrest a civilian (Use the knife, don't shoot them!)
- Pick up Insurgent kits
- Kill Insurgents (Don't shoot those civilians!)
After enough intel points, you will be rewarded with a location, which can make things much easier.
So what are these ammo caches?
These are the very things that keep the Insurgents fighting. They can contain a vital pickup kit (Mosin Nagant, RPG, or PKM) which can change the course of the battle and they can also rearm soldiers on the field.

Al Basrah Specifics
Apart from the search and destroy mission, the GB team must also defend Vehicle Checkpoint. If the Insurgents manage to capture this checkpoint, a ticket bleed will start on the GB team. Already starting with little tickets, this can lose the match for the GB team.
Anything else people should know about this map, post it here.
