View Full Version : keyboard issue and possible replacement

I bought a logitec keyboard (USB) recently for approx $50 to replace the old crappy microsoft PS2 one i had but im having issues with it.

For some reason it cant keep up with my typing - im not the fastest typer in the world - more like 3 fingers at most times.

What happens is it misses letters or spaces on a regular basis.

Now is this a keyboard issue and if so what is a good replacement for around $100 or is it a system issue with USB?

Any help would be appreciated

Do you have the USB>PS2 attachment that came with it?

Plug that in and see if it improves at all - if not try to update the drivers for it.

I use a Logitech G15 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/180&cl=au,en)

great keyboard. Took a bit of getting used to the back lit key during the day

Around the $100 mark from several stores

Darth,

FWIW Ihave a cheaper Logitech keyboard (a wireless model) and it does exactly the same thing to me. I got so frustrated with the random letter dropping and freezing that I gave up on it went back to the Evil Empire keyboard.

My MX518 mouse is a much better product than the keyboard...

im thinking of doing the same as the only real reason i got a new one was the colour and the backspace key is a little sticky.

I dont use the keyboard for games and its annoying to type a post out only to look at it as find its all ****

try updating your motherboard chipset drivers. If not continue looking for your software or try changing ports.

Logitech G15 FTW. I havent seen it around $100 though, more like $160. I got mine brand new off Ebay for $80. Try BuyOnline 24/7. A great online store based in Sydney.

Or if you get stuck for dosh try the G11 instead. Same board, no LCD. I think it is more like $100 at shops.

Some of the keys dont work on my keyboard when I press the left shift button due to the tea mishap last night. Looks like I need a new keyboard too :(

Not sure about that mouse...but the keyboard looks far better. No massively useless 15 g keys as they are all of reach except for 3.

Damnit and I just bought a G15 :(

Yeah that sucks thats why I'm holding off on a new PC research hehehe

Yeah still leaning towards a RAZER mouse with logitech k/board or perhaps a Microsoft/RAZER Reclusa??
