Hey guys,

I am not sure if you have noticed it but since Darth and then team upgraded the look and feel of the forum there is now a link on the right side to go through to a bookstore that sells military books.

Well, that store is part of my business Bob's Books. We started up the military book side of it becuase we felt that avid forum users may also be interested in reading military books as well. As a favour to me Darth has added the link to this forum to see how we go.

Now these are not the normal military books you can get off the shlef at Dymocks, these are specialist books, the ones that Dymocks and alike don't stock.

We have ordered in copies of 'Insode Delta Force' from the US. Now if you are a fan of the Chanel 7 action show 'The Unit' you will know that this is the book that the show is based on. If you are not yet a fan (and I am sure you will once you have tuned in on Wednesday nights) then it is an awesome read and will almost certainly make you want to sign up for selection ;)

We also have books on the history of the sniper, Afghan cave complexes, Navy SEALS as well as South African Special Forces and more. If you know of a book and don't see it in our collection, then let me know and I'll do my best to get a copy for you.

Anyway's the link is on the right side of the forum, click on it and check our small but awesome selection of specialist military books.

Looking forward to seeing you on the website.

Cheers,

WallyJas

I know a little about the 1st Canadian Infantry Division, how the were a flanking attack force during the push on Cassino.

But it took them a while to get going, they missed out on all the action in North Africa.

EDIT: Just went there and found this book:

Yeah we missed out on Africa because Churchill didn't want to move us as we where supposed to head off up north. That didn't happen and they Canadians where in England in force since 39. This is sort of how it lead to the Dieppe debacle. We where sitting around for so long we begged for it and it was one huge cluster****.

After that we finally went to Italy did most of the heavy fighting and then had Montgomery deny us Rome for his personal glory.

Ohh I want that sniper book! Did you know a Canadian hold the world record for longest kill shot? Off the top of my head it was over 2.5 km.

Check out the battles of Ortona and the Liri Valley if you are interested.
