Well some of you may have heard about House and I going to Wallan paintball for a big operation on the 11th of this month. Its true we did go and we teamed up with a outstanding team called TACT *Tactical Assault Combat Team*, throughout the day we used hand signals and verbal communication.
At the end of the day we won every game believe it or not we frigon did, to top it up we fierd 3,000 rounds all up. 1,000 rounds were supplied FREE to the Aus camo team. The last mission was to hold the fort from up to 10-15 regular members :)
We held them of the off for 17 min exact the ref timed it, then we swapped around and took the fort in 13 min.
Wounds for me were :
My left ass cheek
Right upper thigh
2 rounds to my right arm
Square in the neck
1 shot to the left side of the neck
Topping it off with some photos from my camera and a TACT team member:
We did have a actual camera crew there, which video tapped it and took some extra pics. But we havent recieved the video or pics yet.
House is the bloke with the sexy mask and multicam, and Im the bloke with the chest rig :)

First time? It gets addictive, Youl want more and more till you get a licence and then buy your own gear, then it gets expensive as you want all the latest little bits of things that look pretty to go with your gear. And it hurts when you go once per month lol.
Try speedball and sup air, 1 hour worth and youl have 5-10x more wounds then you got from 1 day of bush ball. lol ;)

No 11th time :)
I have a strong dislike in speedball m8, all that gear im wearing is mine except for the marker. I plan on buying a marker and prob when I move out of home.

Yeah It was my second time. Im not really all that keen on speedball. Those things fire way too fast and I'm not all that fit. :). Plus which it's much more fun playing in the dirt.

Their playing field is massive. They are going to hold a big game early next year. There is about 40 acres so far and they are planning to double that soon. Its much better terrain than Coldstream IMHO.

Yeah 80 acers apparently :)
they also said they are planning on putting concrete bunkers on one of the fields which should be awesome :D

thats awesome! the only paintball places ive been to have all had tiny fields, although there are usually only 8 ppl per side. i was always talking with my mates about how cool it would be if the guns were accurate past like 20m and we could play in just some huge bushland area.
ACC1
13th November 2007, 03:10 PM
yeah speedball and sup air is pretty intense and if your not fit youl be dead after 2-3 5min games lol. And its not cheap firing 20 balls a second all day.
Id like to see a field with urban field with buildings. Thats what im waiting for. Or maybe I should build one :p

13th November 2007, 03:20 PM
they are building somethjinmg like that at melbourne indoor paintball i believe.

Yeah, go to billspaintball.com for aussie info on paintball, some of the members are owners or employees of many pb venues, like MIP and many others. So anything paintball related its the best place for aussie info, events etc. And advertising gear for sale. ive been a member there for I dont know how many years now but its good for new and experienced players.
Id like to see a big out door one tho, like a 2 story building or something would be fun to defend/ force entry etc. Plenty of places have wooden forts, like at samford at brisbane. Seen some nice youtube videos from there field.

Yeah we members on that forum ACC, not a fan of half those blokes : /
For the 2 story building issue, there isnt one here in Aus but the yanks are aloud to play at fort BRAG in the urban city scenario for 2 days straight durring night aswell :)
Got a few videos of it if you want it HI RES too.

Do you have a link?
Yes most members there push the whole tourny sup air thing, as alot of them are into the competition side. And theres the whole supair vs bush stuff. I think both are good, havent played with supair bunkers yet tho, usualy play speedball. Alot are sponserd also and this only comes from supair.
I think the most interesting paintball is when buildings are involved, bush is bush and can be all the same some times, but just imagine a local place that has a decent 2-5k sqm buildng that you defend or breach, just dont put glass in the windows. That would be fun.
Id love to make my own , got a friend who has heaps of land but its a few hours drive.

It would be nice but I just don't think you could do it with just you and a few mates. Unless one of your mates is Bruno Grollo :)
Interestingly the only reason the fort bragg scenario goes ahead is because they time the event the day before the Fireman training event. The firemen wash away all the paintball stains.

Well, Depends on wich friends wanted to make it happen, Money can do anything. And thats all the whole thing is dependant on, As I dont have enough to open a multi million dollar complex on my own I cant just go and do it. But I do have a friend with 30,000 acres, wich could help alot. Land being one of the biggest costs.

I tried indoor paintball 8-9 years ago. 3 hour session non stop & I suffered afterwards. The body just isnt designed to walk around for that long in a semi squat position...
Only got shot twice & one of thos times was upon returning arms raised for some PB gun repairs...
Went to the pub afterwards & had so sore legs I couldnt believe it... funny though, I wasnt affected while playing, only after the rush had eased... Amazing were you find muscles you never knew existed...
Never again... will leave all that to playing PR.. & the youngies :)

Thats sad. Unless your 50+ or dont have a love for action or a good rush, theres no reason not to want more.
And you must be squating and hiding to much, try a few run threws and bunkering some people, stretch your legs abit.. Stop camping.. :p lol
Only being shot twice in 3hrs is like you wernt even playing, You didnt even get the full experience, Just on a field with punters ive been hit more then 3-4 times at once while getting my hand up. So going 3 hrs without being hit properly means you didnt even play paintball lol, half of it is about getting into the action and taking a few risks.

I shared the same experience with Captain Andy. I had to take a day off work as I couldn't walk. :) This time my legs are still stiff but I drank a lot more water. It helped quite a lot.
With Bushball you have heaps of cover and you needn't run that much. Its more a matter of maneuvering yourself to get a better angle on your opponent.
I also learned that teamwork absolutely kills every other advantage your opponents might have. We we playing with Tippmann 98's and the opposition was playing with Spiders and 3 of them with HPA electros. We still beat them because we covered each other and stuck to a plan. I knew that as soon as I moved my teammate would open up on the opponents position. Even if the opponent wasn't visible. Most of the time we could stroll down the field swinging our walking sticks in the air.

lol Yeah bushball is funny, You can usualy see them before there in range to shoot. Noobs will shoot and not know its to far lol. I love doing the jim carrey dance from mask when they are a little out of range, They shots got past you but they are curved, bad accuracy and little chance of it breaking lol. Its great fun when they wonder whats going on and why they cant hit you.

You can't do that in North America, the velocity is cranked up way more and in fact the indoor velocity at home is more than outdoor here.
I can't say which is better though as when I came home from bushball here I didn't have any ring welts with broken skin. By ring welt I mean this jagged circle of bleeding skin all puffed up with a very ugly bruise in the next day or so.
Here I still get a bruise but it's not nearly as painful and it sure would promote repeat business more!
I have an image right now in my head of that youtube kid going down like a sack of potatoes from a headshot. Damn it's funny.

There is a legal limit of the velocity for paintball guns, anything over 300fps is illegal and no longer classed a paintballgun. Shouldnt be much difference at all from place to place with velocitys. Most fields run 275-285.
householddog
16th November 2007, 01:27 PM
Its no different in America than it is here. 300fps is max legal here. In the US it might be not illegal, however, all the manufacturers explicitly warrant their products for sub 300fps speeds including the masks. So if you are an idiot, fire over 300fps and take someones eye out expect to be have the field shut down by law suits.

Cheeky bugger! I allways make the rule of when playing with guns is to shoot & not get shot :) Works for me...
The arena I played at was in an old warehouse in Pt.Adelaide... Maybe some of the Adelaideians will know the one I am talking about (if it's still running) its only about 50mtrs2....
The whole reason I was so sore was our tactic of progressive suppress, move, cover & flank in teams of 2 & we kicked arse... Hence the ultra sore legs.. I walked & ran squated.. was good until we stopped then wholey **** batman..

Yah when I play I try not to squat and rather knee'll as squating gets sore after awhile, as how often do you squat normally heh? Usualy go for the bigger bunkers so I get more cover and can stand.

Nice work! 80 acres is pretty good for PB. We do MilSims with Laser in 200 acres of rainforest. I have heard that Speedball is on the rise but like you I don't think PB will leave the bush too soon. Most players like to get in and around and get dirty. I think Speedball is a little too much on the clinical side. I much prefer the military simulation experience than the shooting people up experience. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Good stuff.

Yeah mate! I hosted a laser skirmish thing in MooralBark down here in Victoria :) not bad but got a bit stroppy with the lasers :( like I loved using the scorpian but damn even at 5 feet it wouldnt register a hit :(.
But yeah Paintball **** we love it, like you I dislike Speedball and rather the Military simulation which yeah Bushball :) cant wait for the next event :).

Scorpions. You must have been using BFS gear. We use some BFS shells but we have all Frag addons and most of our gear is custom made using blueguns. So full replica M4, M16, SAW, P90 and 100-200 metre ranges in daylight. 4-man fireteams. 200 acres. 6 hour and 24 hour missions. Most of my guys are current or ex mil and in 2 weeks we drop in on an ADF training session. That's what I mean about Military Simulation.
