Found this interesting for all you pilots out there

http://www.realitymod.com/forum/small-changes-aircraft-private-t31046.html

It's one of those things to add the planes or not add the planes...

Hmm imagine a map that is just air skirmish 15 hangars X4 jets all lined up with idiots all tk'ing trying to taxi on the strips at the same time..

NOW that would be awesome

I am expecting that planes will make a return in the new version... Depending if it doesn't bring out the vanilla bf2 tardism like it has on every single round I have played with them, which I hope they don't, because in the new version they....... ;)

Yeah... Anything that tries to take the balance out and put emphasis on a particular aspect of the game makes me weary, unless it's planned as a aviation-only minimod.. I mean it would be pretty sweet to have a 10x10km map (almost 10x bigger than Kashan) with 15-20 planes a side, no fly zones over the airfields (or massive, insane-o AA) and short plane spawns to represent reinforcements... that would [hopefully] make for one hell of an epic plane battle.

Yeah just a dedicated air map just to get your fix plus a good way to learn how to fly

Hahaha you really should be punished hahaha :)

A pure dedicated air map would be awesome just for the thrills once in a while it breaks the mould.

I was a rad pilot in vanilla, first time in an F-16 I snap rolled and wanted to pull up. What actually happend was a snap roll but that thing rolled so fast I was upside down before I knew it and pulled up straight into the ground. Before that I was impressed with how fast it was.

Right after they took the planes out in a patch. I'm looking forward to jumping back in one and raping the little maggots on the ground, till I snap roll and pull up into the ground............

Planes are still in 0.613 we just don't have any of the maps with planes on them (Kashan 64 comes to mind). :)

If I remember correctly I think Kashan 64 was removed more because of the jets being invincible than just lag.

You can knock them down a lot more easy. I believe they are fixing it up so that missles are going to be a major porblem. If you don't drop flares at the right time you are going to go down.

The thing I found interesting is it all came from them fixing the anti-air rockets which is awesome now that kit will be worth fearing.

Correct.
AA is useless and the jets are way too overpowered at the moment.

I think the new AA will certainly make pilots think about going low and slow. They will learn fast much to the enjoyment of us ground pounders.
