I think its 2 hours.

WA is 2 hours behind EDST, SA & NT are .5 hours behind EDST and NSW & VIC are +1100.

Not sure about QLD though, I think they are an hour behind?

We are definately 2 hrs behind Sydney, Melbourne. 1.5 hrs behind Adelaide. As we are on Daylight savings time same as east now it stays like this, beforehand it used to get to 3 hrs difference when east went DST but we did not.
The following is a good one with one table that sums it up.

Contrary to popular belief, Perth is not 2 hours behind the rest of the country.

We're about 30 years behind!

I'm not sure according to Our Brisbane (http://www.ourbrisbane.com/living/brisbanelife/facts/history/) the goal took "only the toughest prisoners from Sydney" so your probably right. I really don't give a rats seen how we rock and you all live in **** holes compared to me. :P

Aus - what type of camo are you after? If you are after camo paint to paint your paintball gun with then I am the man to speak to! There are two main paints to use:

Krylon (as seen in the movie The Shooter) - basically this is unobtanium in Australia, sadly.

Rustoleum Camo Series distributed in Australia by Dy-Mark Distribution and available for about $12 per can in large can sizes. My custom Remington 700 sniper rifle is currently being painted using this paint and it rocks....

We use Krylon Fusion in the aquarium hobby.

I&J Print and Sign Supplies (http://www.inj.com.au/shop/search.php?search=Kr ylon%20Fusion) sell it online and Ive been told they are reliable (never ordered from them personally).
Ive also been made aware in the past of two places in Sydney and one in Queensland that sell Kyrlon Fusion paint.

Hey Aus,

I was in that shop on friday looking at those ACU's - they have them in the old fashioned style as well as the new issue style with slanted pockets.

Personally, I didn't think much of the fabric - it is a cheaper fabric and looks like it won't wear too well. It is also most definately not IR treated so no good for the 2-way range!

I buy all my cams like that from bdu.com and get them delivered to a mate in the US who on-forwards to me. If you want a new cam pattern be warned that the ACU's are universally loathed by those they are issued to and there is already talk that they will be replaced after Iraq experiences. The hot new cam everyone in the US is hunting and playing with is Multicam (think Transformers movie).

http://www.bdu.com/F541838377.html

Oh - and Jim yes you can buy Krylon Fushion paint in lots of places. You cannot buy the Krylon Fushion CAMOUFLAGE range in Aus - I have been trying and arguing with importers etc for months and months and they aren't interested in bringing it in.

We've been using Multicam for the TAP in our MilSims sessions for the past 6 months. It works unbelievably well in all terrain types in Australia. We've even used them in our MOUT. They are heavier though so you get real hot real quick. And they are oversized so if you get the opportunity to try them on 1st go for it. The only ACU some of my guys have (apart from the real deal like Bammo said) is from Rothco and you get them on your doorstep in 2-3 days.

f you want a new cam pattern be warned that the ACU's are universally loathed by those they are issued to and there is already talk that they will be replaced after Iraq experiences.

True that. But apparently they work well where they're needed, e.g mountain and urban areas in A-stan. They're just not the all purpose replacement the US army was hoping for. Seems to me the Marines got a better deal with Multicam.

Bammo
28th November 2007, 09:05 PM
Ummm - nope, the Marines don't use Multicam? The Marines use MARPAT which was developed after reviewing a number of commercial cams and comparing the Canadian CADPAT. They basically copied the CADPAT fractal algorithms and laid them over the 4 colour US Tigerstripe pattern (!). The Canadians are apparently pissed off as they have a patent on CADPAT.

MARPAT is issued in 2 variants (forest and desert), ACU is issued in only 1 variant (light grey/green), but there are 3 or 4 after market versions of it around in different colours.

Multicam is a Crye Precision invention and is being copied madly by all and sundry at the moment. You can order the ACU style uniforms direct from BDU.COM but I am not sure if they deliver to Aus yet? They didn't used to but they have been getting better.

Otherwise google them, there are lots of online suppliers who will deliver. Note though, if you buy them off eBay they are almost certainly going to be fakes...

Hey Aus,

Any reason you have your heart set on ACU's? I have a spare set of USMC BDU's in the classic Woodland pattern sitting on my shelf doing nothing. They are sized medium regular and would fit someone in the 5'9 - 6' height range and anywhere in the 70-85Kg range.

These are the actual Propper Brand issue cams and in excellent condition if you are interested. They have the subdued USMC logo on the pocket.

$40 plus freight if you want 'em...

Bammo
28th November 2007, 10:50 PM
I also have a full set of large sized ERDL Lime cams, aka "Vietnam Leaf as worn by the SAS in Vietnam (think the movie The Odd Angry Shot). These are now rare as rocking horse poo. Dunno what they are worth, but it will be a heck of a lot more than $40!

Oh - I also have a set of genuine current issue Auscam's in Large size as well. $75 on that set...

...and.... I think there is set of genuine issue Rhodesian Cams from the early 1970's in the back of closet but you can't have those ones. They're about worth a deposit on a house nowadays.... Dad was issued them in about 1971 after the UDI and you can't get them for love or money anymore.

<I kinda have a thing for collecting cams and then selling them off and then collecting them again...!>

To tell you the truth I like the ACU, because its just seriously through my eyes outstanding camo :) Its also good if you just wanna wear the pants like to tafe or out an about with like a white shirt/jumper or jacket etc. With the other products its all good but non of them I fancy sorry for getting ya to write all that down :(

Another reason for the ACU is that my a Paintball team TACT masybe splitting up and forming there own. With that they are trying to see what cams to buy, and as soon as I had heard about that I was like oh what about MARPAT? because at the time I had a hardon for MARPAT but they were like just saying we like the look of ACU.

So it all came to the decision that everyone could wear what they like BUT, everyone in the team wears the same team insignia on their shoulder :). Which is completly fair I just like to wear all the same uniform thats all :)

So we having a meeting today in the city so if you interested in more Info about whats said today ill be more than hapy to tell you tomorrow :)

Hey I just remembered that you said you had a pair of Nam clothes yeah? if so there is a place in Philapisland, its a brand new Aussie Vietnam Museum. You MIGHT have a looker on your hands ill ask my dad what the place is called when he gets home from work tonight and post it for ya would ya like that m8?

Sorry just found it knock yaself out m8 :P:

You can actually purchase multicam from a security shop in Wooloongabba in south brisbane. I haven't seen it anywhere else as yet, at least not the real deal. We are not allowed to wear Auscam for our "special" MilSims event Dec 8th, for obvious reasons, so I was going to get the multicam pants becuase the TAP for MilSims will be all going multi eventually.
