for some of the best team based combat I have experienced on PR to date. As a noob myself to PR, this is why I loaded the mod in the 1st place. Otherwise I would have stayed on VBS and ARMA.
I'm sure there are some other dudes I missed so apols to those dudes.
Keep it up guys and well done!

I beleive your refering to the effort last night on Daqing Oilfields where at the last possible minute after being pushed righ back to the PLA main we managed a massive co-ordinated strike to push the USA right back into their main base.
Oh yeah we turned that one around fast.
Good work guys.

Good post milsims.. It's great when you get a nice bit of coordinated action happening. Hopefully more and more as the community grows - seem to be a few new names of late - as long as they stay and are keen to get trained up and run as a team.

I try to. Most of the MilSims guys play VBS or ARMA which I also play a lot of. Some of them are admins and mission makers, etc. I do prefer them for teamplay but every now and them I like the pace of PR and it runs better on my PC than the other 2. But there is nothing like a perfectly timed and executed linear ambush with 8 guys in VBS or ARMA!

milsims, What is VBS ?? I thought it was just a REALLY expensive version of ARMA

That's it. ARMA is the really cheap version VBS! VBS is used to train the military - USMC, ARMY, IDF, NZDF, ADF and Canadians. It's basically the same at ARMA except it contains everything you would want - ADF, US, IDF, Soviets, Insurgents, Brits, Danish, German, French, as well as things not yet deloyed such as Aussie M1, ARH Tiger, MRH90, etc. Most of the ppl who play online are current or ex-mil. It also has realtime game editing so things can change while you are half way through a mission. I once was part of a 6 man SEAL team that HALO dropped by C130 at 30,000ft. We got 3 hours into the mission and we were searching through a town in Iraq full of civilians. We stacked up to enter a particular compound and one of the guys kicked the door in only to release about 8 rotties who tore into us. We laughed our heads off! Another time our lead LRRP got taken out by an OED strapped to a sheep in a herd that we stopped to allow pass us across the road in front. Ah good times!

I agree, Unless you have money to waste and $10,000 worth of gear to run it on everything as high as it gets theres no way id spend that much on a game.
ARMA is much cheaper. ARMA 2 coming next year.

YEh last night was great. I love it when Aussiesniper is SL.
Yes it was fun while it lasted then the phone rang, the doorbell rang and the kids started fighting so i had to quit. Aussiesniper was speedtalking like he was on Red Bull and V!
The reserves are currently at Lavarack Barracks using that software before going up to the High Range Training Area to do it for real. It was on the news last night and I was trying to figure out what the software was from the screen shots they were showing. Guess now I know.

Yeah ABlack, the new version is exe and I do not have that. I feel it is worth it though as you are getting a modern combat simulation, not necessarily a game. I have gone through entire 6 hr ops without firing a shot. That is something BF2 players would find sacrilege! The only problem with this new version is that at this stage only the militaries have it. No private users that I know of. Maybe that is the idea of the pricetag too.
The maps are up to 250km2 and they have fully accurate maps of southern A-stan, Basra and Bagdad and so can practice any type of scenario the troops may come across.
Anyway lets get back to PR.
Thanks again for another night of fun last night (Thurs). Lots of new names on last night. Lots of bad lag too. Still had some good moments. Like when I was hiding up a smoke stack and was spotting for my team as they were getting pushed back to the US Base. My wife rang from Canberra and so I was talking to her not knowing that all my team got killed and lost the last flag and only myself and Whore were left. So whore decides to hunt me down and TK so we can get to the next round becuase he can't get the flag back by himself. I notice all this and begin climbing down the ladder when Whore shoots me. We may have got the flag and we may not have. Guess we'll never know.
