3 days left!
I'm trying to get some PR dudes out there because last month when we went up against some ADF boys we had 6 ARMA players join us and they have booked in for the entire year in advance.

The idea of this is to create as close to a real combat "experience" as possible (obviously not focussing on any negatives), not to run around blasting each other with 10 year old technology or bruising each other with inaccurate and short range paintballs.
We run this a full 6 hr, 12 hr or 24 hr non-stop session of objectives, working in fireteams, with squad roles, using replica weapons and the latest software that records different % for different weapons, near misses, ammo counts, ammo replenish, health replenish, KIA, etc, etc. We also have C4, claymores, m16, m4, ak47, ak74, SAW, rpk, ppk, m138, etc, etc. There is nothing like it in Australia and we have already had someone in Vic take interest in expanding it down there.
If you can get up to a session here, do it. Most people who have played laser before don't go back to other games (even though I encourage them to support their local business). This is not a business but a hobby. We usually have 2 or 3 of the business operators in SE Qld along to each event as a player. Sessions include 1/2 hour PT and 1 hour squad based training by a qualified US Marine instructor. Most who attend are current or ex military.
In December we were asked to participate in a local exercise for the ADF for a group who were deploying to East Timor in May 08.
A few months ago we were asked by THQ to run sessions for an open day when they release their new Frontlines game.
Last month we had 6 guys from AusArma who had never met each other before. They we so impressed they all booked in for every session in 2008. Now I am trying to get some PR guys out as well.
It rocks!

A big 'Thank You' to all who participated in Saturday's Evolution 10 of Military Sims. I hope you had a great time and learned something that can enhance your 'experience'.
Another special thanks to Cougar from Logan Laser Skirmish who is our Armourer and provided the equipment and site for the session.
Here is a quick AAR with photos. http://milsims.blogspot.com /search/label/After%20Action%20Rep orts
