Well i know that at the P.R forums they have there own Suggestion thread but it seems there getting a tad lazy and dont really wanna do some things and ignore some things.
So lets make our own suggestion thread and maybee ppl That know the developers of PR can post them in the other thread.

For example I suggested Repair stations to repair tanks on because its really hard to find a engiee But it seemed to of gotten ignored

I was thinking it can be a commander spawnd option instead of sandbags

I saw your post mate and noticed it was ignored
(as are most things over there unless they get really long winded and get posted in over and over, until you just don't feel like reading the thread anymore)
as i said before, the idea isn't without merit and i do see what your getting at,
IMO it would be better to just make bunkers or firebases (maybe both...or not)
repair armour rather than make another asset that has to be bulit,
that way there is more pressure on the commander to get those assets up
as well as the armour would have a reason to go there and could possibly re-group with infantry and support them.

i would say that the could only repair from command posts or bunkers not firebases as these can be in very intersting place not for heavy gear needed to repair a tank

well my understanding a bunker which is put to objectives the flags can be used as staging point and only broken down to leave the area
firebase give the impression that its much more tempory and made for for attacking purpses eg ammo
so fine you could get some repairing from a firebase but a bunker would fix bigger problems like broken turret or what i want to see is broken sights

I understand and agree,
I was thinking "just bunkers" when i posted but put both in.
the firebase doesn't really make sense being a repair station as it is just a tent on a mound
where as a bunker could possibly have parts, tools etc inside it.

I don't really see the point of having this thread since no devs read these forums. You'd be better off posting on the PR forums if you want your idea heard. If what you posted gets ignored, keep posting in it, keep offering ideas and ways to implement it. You could even try to mod it in yourself. Just ways of making it as easy as possible for the devs if they did like the idea and/or wanted to implement it.

Well i'm giving 3D modeling a go (just installed a 3D program)
not saying i'm now a 3D modeler but hey it's worth a looksy.

I had a look at mapping........WAY out of my league me thinks.....which sucks but oh well.

You guys should maybe think of ways to contribute to pr?
Would be an awesome feeling to have something you made actually used in PR

We came across an issue this evening where we needed to relocate a firebase or bunker and so it needed to be destroyed equaling to minus points (I know its not about the points) but maybe the commander could give a deconstruct order which reverses the process...

Actually destroying commander assets lies to you... it says "team vehicle damage" but doesn't actually take any points away, try it next time :). I've tested it and it's true.

It used to be in the wiki, but I can't find it now

Its not an issue mate, its meant to be that way. Go posting that as a bug in the PR forums and you'll probably get flamed.
Psyrus is right, you do not take any negative points for destroying your own firebase/bunker. Ranky is also correct, c4 is the quick way to get rid of them.
An already wrecked firebase/bunker usually only needs one pack of c4. If it needs more than one, you can still rearm off of it until its completely gone.

My suggestions weren't exactly 'ignored', mind you mine weren't radical either.

my latest suggestions were something along the line of:

leaving new accuracy as is, except tightening up still deviation a little and making deviation less while walking (sights up) than it is when running (currently same effect on deviation), and maybe somehow attaching a penalty to the running prone dive.

Oh and bringing back clacker detonated claymores. :D

last night on EOJD Desert or w/e its name is i was just running around helping out the team when i kept suddenly getting Team Vehicle Damage, im like wtf, has any1 else noticed this. Rofl i hate Bi Ming. I also have an idea, we should post a link to this thread once a month on the PR forums and ask the devs to take a look at some of the ideas, which will hopefully lead to a better .7 patch

Hmm, well headhunter with me, my loading screen post was my first post in those forums. And I got R-CON'd for that, so I wouldn't say that a low post count means your a nub and everyone ignores you. From what I see, the devs have a lot on their plate already, and when people come in suggesting things here and there without making much of an effort to completely plan things out (ie, this model, this coding, this requirements, etc), I wouldn't blame them for ignoring it (this is not directly aimed at your suggestion, more so suggestions in general). If I myself just suggested that they get rid of the crappy looking load screens and make them better without attempting to do it myself, that it too would be completely ignored and we would still have the old ones in 0.7.

To me, if you want something in PR (such as your repair station idea), the best way to go would be to do it yourself, like nedlands1, Jonny, zangoo, and Mosquill are doing for their various ideas over there. I would also expect that once they have finished up on their work that the Dev's would implement in a PR version it and R-CON them for their work.

But yeah, if you can't do it yourself since you have no idea or whatever, do as much work as you can, like what model it should use (find reference pics or find a suitable model already in game), what requirements it should have (only deployable at main bases), does it need to be built (shovels needed), squad leader requests it, commander accepts it, squad memeber builds it.... things like that, you get the point.

But seriously there are some damn good ideas out there but think of it this way... Do these guys really have enough time in a day? I'm sure most have jobs like most people..

But can we get the link for the Aus forces idea and throw a heap of I agree's behind it hahahaa...

bummer, that would be sweet to have Aus forces in PR, and if they did agree to port it over to PR it has the plus side of already having all the models/weapons etc already created by the Aus Forces people

well hmmm
yes the planes are hard to land but...

last night on Quin Ling i was in a squad with someone and they were coming in for a landing and the runway was broken so, being and enginner i raced over there to do some repairs, the next thing i see before im done is a guy come in a a crawling pace the hit the runway and stop???????

he starts laughing his head off and says *look stopped on a dime* im sitting there going wtf ur meant to use the whole runway, mind u he had never landed a plane in PR before so this was an experience, just wondering if this could be fixed because it was friggen funny but also not very realalistic unless u have a harrier, which he didnt :)

yeah i still cant unsterdand why they havent made it so planes need to spend more time on the runway to take off and land, as currently u can lift off after about 100m or maybe even less (its hard to estimate using bf2 distances heh)

Nedlands should be an R-CON at the LEAST, i think it's 'nuff said when you see what he's done. He's figured out stuff that the dev team previously thought impossible/hardcoded like linked weapons, directional smoke canisters for vehicles, etc etc.

theres some guy whose improving the turret stablilization on the tanks and choppers etc and although hes run into a few problems hes already gotten further than the devs by finding some lines of code they didnt know about which is pretty cool. it'd be awesome to have moving while firing tank warfare :D

IIRC the aus forces team aren't even remotely interested,

bit of a shame for both mods.

Nedlands should be an R-CON at the LEAST, i think it's 'nuff said when you see what he's done. He's figured out stuff that the dev team previously thought impossible/hardcoded like linked weapons, directional smoke canisters for vehicles, etc etc.

Yeah I brought a topic about it up here on these forums, which got locked. My argument was that their mod, all in all, was and is virtually dead. To throw away all that content seems like a bloody waste. Strange thing is IIRC arkanis actually enjoys PR, so I don't see why he'd want to withhold content.

As for neddy, he's away for the next 2 weeks. Seems to me some of the devs dont like being proven wrong :P

It would be sweet if you got a screen filter which makes your vision go blurry for a couple of secs when you go from sprinting to prone but I don't think the engine can differentiate between walking and running in that regards.

I've also always thought that some better vehicles on the smaller maps would be awesome. I've been thinking in my head for a while that 16p Al Basrah would be sweet if the Brits had access to an apache. Map lag problems aside, if the old airbase was isolated from the city part of the map with no go zones and the chopper only had access to one or two 'light red' flight channels I reckon it would work pretty well. After all how many times do you see army footage where ground forces are supported by a single vehicle asset? Heaps.

Obviously the map maker would have to be pretty smart with how he cordoned off areas. The only red areas the chopper should have access to should be the route from the airbase to the city, the airbase itself and the city. The red out of bounds zone should be pretty tight around the city itself so that the chopper couldn't really sit out in the open and fire willy nilly into the urban areas.

Last night on Fools Road I had a great time when as the Brits we really struggled to destroy an old SINGLE CREWED T90 simply because of lack of co-ordination and resources. I reckon the game should encourage more of these small encounters to promote good teamwork.
