Brazil federal court judge bans Counterstrike and Everquest:

Sure these games are popular, and maybe there's some gun/violence/terrorist argument for banning CS - but everquest??

I wonder if other gun-toting mutliplayer games like BF2/ARMA/Operation Flashpoint/Quake Wars/half life/etc etc are also banned? WoW?

I <3 the deep holes in the censorship argument.

I think the last one was banned due to 'excessive graphic violence' or something. Have yet to ban the TV news, though...

Silly really, they have age rating for a reason. We should not get punished because some irresponsible parent buys their 6 year old Manhunt or GTA, they should.

We also banned GTA3 on the PS2 for abit. They pulled it off the shelves after a week or two of its release. The OFLC did a second rating on it and decided to give it a R rating the second time round.

Why did it get a R rating?....well it was the fact you could pick up a hooker, pay her to have sex with you and then you could kill her to get your money back.

It was re-released a few months later with the hooker feature missing to get the MA15+ rating :).

Thankfully NZ didnt ban the game so i was able to get a copy of all my GTA games UNCUT :D.

Yeah I finished the game, then sold it on for $80 2 months after I originally brought it, because no one could buy the original 'uncensored' version anymore...

Ahh i remember people selling the uncut version for $140-180 on ebay the day after the banning.

I bought the game from NZ for $90 :). Still have it now along with the other 2 GTAs i bought via them(heard VC & SA are cut in the oz version)

On the PC version where you could go and actually see CJ nailing a hooker, that went over well in the states and there was a lawsuit.

There was actually a mini game cheat/hack or something in the PC version which was CJ having sex with a girl and you could change position and stroke speed, there's footage out there somewhere, but it's weird that the xbox 360 version still had the stuff in it that the PS2 had taken out. At least mine did anyway.
