Can depend what mission you're loading into - large missions can take a while to load in as you have to load everything thats happened before you came in (every tree knocked over, every bit of damage done to buildings etc), and then load the state of the mission, current and previous players etc.
It can take a while compared to other games to get in, but as I said depends what mission you're loading into... or even the server you tried to join :)

Evolution blue seems to be the only map around atm.

might try again.

GSA servers are the best apparently, after that OGN or internode.

yeah i heard u complaining about lag last night m8 but i had a lot of **** going on so couldnt reallly help out. you may have the same problem as me though, i get lag in arma when no1 else does constantly and i still havent been able to figure out why. i made a thread about it and theres a video of the kind of lag i get which you could compare what you get to.

Not lag Pogo he just takes a while to receive mission data like we all do.
Also Pogo you don't get lag as such as your ping is still quite good, my theory is that there is something wrong with your packet flow causing the stuttering.
Reformat Pogo, reformat while you still can!!

Never ended up getting on last night, was busy shopping online :p
Latley mission load times have been very long on OGN, alot more then they should be, sometimes you can ESC and try again, if the same thing happens and its slow, either pick another server or go get a drink etc while it loads in.

The same map is the one you'll see on any of the public servers - to play desert style missions on something other than the south of S.S. you need to get on the private servers :)

Im sure if anough of you have Sakakah (you'll need QG) you can play some Warfare on there - that's a good time waster if you get everyone onto one side and play it COOP style :)

What connection are you on?
It can take a while to join missions, I've sat in the lobby / wait for host screen for 20 minutes before i got in to select a spot... then another 10 minutes to load the game haha :)
