View Full Version : PR GSA Clan Hunting

Hey everyone,
I have been playing pr since 0.6 however I have recently (2 months or so) been reeled in by the GSA server. With the recent release of 0.8 I have decided to look for a clan that will further my skills & enjoyment. I have clan experience with =s[O]a= and creX` in nilla bf2 but im not going back hehe.
I am seeking a place at one of the following clans/scrim teams [WC] [N/A]
The reason I chose these above others is that to me, they seem the most mainstream and I do not wish to join a newly developing team.
My ingame alias is Kushluk (pronounced kush-luck or kush for short)
Im 18 years old, male and live in Brisbane, Australia. I am currently at Uni.
Im sure a fair few of you have seen/played with me at some time.
Ingame I mostly play as infantry medic/squad leader or tank driver although I will happily play any role excepting attack jet pilot or attack chopper gunner. I also have proficient skills as rifleman/AT/Helo Pilot. I have extensive map and gameplay knowledge and would like to further my "team" experiences with pr as you only get so far yelling at squad members to follow you so you can set a rally up :p
[b]Anyone who thinks I am more suited to a certain type of clan/team (advantages/disadvantages etc) or has a comment/opinion of me as a player/person please feel free to post in this topic. If you have a private question, feel free to PM me.
Thanks, kush.
ps. I am free most weekends, some weeknights, some afternoons and almost all nights after 8pm or so. Look forward to your replies.

As I said yesterday when we were playing together, you want to join [bD] :). Go to the above page and send in an email, and we'll get you sorted :).

Hey, that was fast :O
I thought I would apply here to get an overall perspective from a number of people about the various options before rushing into any commitments.
Cheers

Don't forget about TEA, NSOF, SiN, CCT, GUN... they all also have presence in PR... but they also have presence in BF2 so I don't know if that conflicts with your 'clan ideologies' :)
Ahhhhh headache is killing me :(

Of the three you have specified I would say [WC] is probably the most strict/militaristic and N/A is the most laid back/easy going with [bD] somewhere in between.
However I highly suggest you play with members from all of the clans you are looking at and see which one you like/suits you the best in game.
The only real tip I can offer is, if you are not that serious when you play or have a problem with strict orders, don't join [WC]. :P

Yeah im definately more on the serious side of things.
[bD] v [WC]
Any other deciding factors?

Dont over look the other Clans mate (TEA, NSOF, SiN, CCT, GUN etc...). They're all good players and great blokes. Some are very old clans, with experienced players from other games. Where ever you end up, you won't regret it.

I dont have anything against the other clans, however I have noticed that players from the three teams I mentioned above usually play together in squads more frequently and this is the kind of play I am looking for, as well as wearing a tag and showing up to scrims/ladder matches.

Jesus christ here we go again...
Anyway, Kush, I'm like everyone else going to suggest you feel it out for yourself by playing in squads with squaddies made up predominately of the particular clans you are looking at.

Good luck in your hunt for a clan. You'll find each has a different 'culture' or feel about them. Take your time in deciding - the next season probably won't start for a while... Hopefully more teams get involved this time around ;)

[TEA] isn't a newly developing clan. It's been around since 1998. :O
But hi anyway.

Hi,
in light of your edit - here are a couple of my opinions to consider.
Firstly I'd like to thank the people above who encouraged you to look at some of the other clans - I and am sure some of the smaller PR clans appreciate your efforts too.
You see the problem Kushluk is that we are a relatively small community (although with each new release we grow). So when a new community member comes along and says I want to join a clan - they naturally gravitate to one of the larger PR clans for the valid reasons you did. This however contributes to the problem where the smaller clans struggle to get the numbers to participate in the 10v10 comps. Not saying that the larger PR clans don't struggle either (looking at the numbers of mercs required to fill slots) - but what I think people are starting to be conscience of is that would more teams in the comps be better? or do some of the teams already in consolidate their numbers first and then grow the comp?
It's a worthy discussion for smarter people than I... not feeling all that philosophical today... :)
Anyhow like I said... don't rush into a decision - get a feel of whose playing style you enjoy the most....

so is sin going to join the next ladder ?
Noddy
1st September 2008, 08:30 AM
wouldn't think so at this stage..... we are probably in a worse position than before - some members seem to have gone awol - maybe .8 will bring them back.
Can't speak for the clan - but would suggest an alliance as our only hope of getting involved next comp.

That is a good idea noddy but who will put up with hh from another clan for a match?
To the OP, pretty much all the clans are great and as a tight community we all know each other pretty well.
As soon some of the smaller ones get more members and people see the tags on a regular basis they will grow.
It's also fun making a clan grow, I've been in WC for a long while when we had just a small handful and SIN was bigger than us.
N/A, they had a funny start and grew from guys who wanted to scrim but didn't want to be in a clan and so they created Non-Affiliated or is non applicable? It's been awhile since they started that. Funny how the non clanners ended up being a great clan by accident.

Of course there is but you're not doing your clan any favours, maybe if you tone it down a little people will find SIN more open and willing to join.
It's worth a try don't you think?

People want to join winners HH, you should know that you swap sides in-game all the time to try to get on the winning team.

Ok, Kushluk you have lots of options.
I strongly suggest, as others have said, you squad up with people ingame and get a feel for the clans. When you are ready to approach a clan, pm the clan leader/s and find out about their application process.
Any questions, feel free to drop me a pm, but this thread is done before all out war breaks out.
