ArmA 2 - no sound

If you're experiancing no sound issues with the game only, attempt the following:
Go to <your install directory>/Steam/SteamApps/common/arma2/DirectX

Find the application titled DXSETUP and run it as ADMINISTRATOR.

That fixed my sound problems.

The alternative is to make sure your sound drivers are up to scratch.

Does anyones sound cut out partially when dropping large amount of bombs from a jet?>

Like youll be able to hear just the bombs, not the jet sounds etc

yes its a known bug, a problem with the sound engine of the game, sounds overlap and cuase other sounds to short out. iirc its being looked into with arrowhead with a entirely new sound system.
