Gentlemen

VLSA (Victorian Laser Skirmish Association) would like to invite any Melbournians/Victorians to come along to our sessions. VLSA run milsim style events similar to Combat Sims group up in queensland. We are looking for any new recruits willing to give this a go and most likely get hooked

The next session we are looking to run is on Saturday 21st November out near Mt Macedon at Riddells Creek at our newly aquired 150 acre field. The session will go for a whole day and start from 9am and finished between 4-5pm

This session will be run to be n00b friendly, so u will not be thrown into a full day of milsims, it will most likey be split in half with a few small scenarios to warm up with and if we find that the recruits are upto it a half day a mission with full milsim ruleset will be deployed.

That said VLSA run milsim events so that means there is no room here for lone wolfs & rambos also dont look at this as a pc game its completely different. Team work, tactics, strategy, discipline and of course having fun are what is most important.

For those Victorians who have been seeing the queenlanders get all the fun and wanted to have a go this is the opportunity for you. So if you are keen and would like to give this a go please dont hesitate to PM me.

Time: 9am - 4-5pm
Where: Riddells Creek
Cost: TBA (Roughly $30 for the whole day)

If I were to fly down to melbourne for this, how would I best get to the event?

I know it's about 50km from Melb and wiki tells me it's got a train station there but that's about it.

Whats the best thing about it from personal experience?

1.Gearing up
2.Hand signals
3.High grade performance from other members when contact has been made.
4.Above all putting camouflage paint on my pretty face lol :D

At this stage it was the last missions for the day and we were so hot we ripped our gear off ( webbing ) :P

As you can see in this video thats only a small amount of what we use, and we tend to keep away from Milestag equipment.

How often do these events occur? I can't come to this one but I enjoy laser skirmish I normally go to the one out behind Wondong which I think is the same.

I have to say the equipment you use looks alot better than the stuff we used.

Hey Kenny we look to run at least once a month, the gear we use has variable damage as well as a weapons library. So a sniper rifle does more damage than the assault rifles etc. The guns in milsims mode supports mag changes and we use a medic patch to stop bleeding once we get shot. So its pretty much like PR in a way. The milsim aspect uses CASEVACS full sections and the scenario runs a whole day so having happens out in the field and our orders get called in to the section sig and so forth.

Once a year the guys in queensland run a 3 day event called laserstorm which is pretty a milsim event camp out in field, piquets etc..

Also we have confirmed we will be running a night ops the friday night before the event and camping on the field.

Field has toilet blocks and showers for those who are a little precious

Pfft.. You guys will have to get up here to Brisbane for Laserstorm. We will show you how to play Combat Sims!
