I'm getting this error when I try to send a PM:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to mail.bigdgaming.net: 25 (Connection timed out) in /includes/class_mail.php on line 599
The PM still seems to be sent OK.
I'm guessing this might be related to the move of the server(s) away from GSA?

BigD website was not connected to GSA, apparently the email server was always a bit dodgy.

nope.. BigD forums haven't moved... IIRC host problem I think - but they deny it...

Nah it's been happening for ages now, the webhost is different from GSA so that makes no difference. It seems like the webserver's mail host is sometimes a bit dodgy, dunno why. Could be a VB issue as well

Never come across that one Gourmet... Hmmm.
I'm not getting any error messages myself..and I have nearly 400 pms in my in box alone..
Only deleted most of them a month ago.. :(.
I did see something last week while I was looking up some other V Bulletin things ,about such error messages being caused by people searching the forums while others are sending PMs..but I am unsure whether that could affect other people or why that would happen.
And as P said..The Web Hosts mail server IS a bit dodgy/prone to clogging up.
And its hard to get them to do anything about it.
And as the Account is in Uncles Darths name they will only speak to him and he is doing 12 hour days so getting hold of them during business hours is not easy for him.

Just sent a PM, and it was all fine.
I used to get this error, or one similar, when my school had this site unblocked. It would still let me post, but it would take a few minutes for the post to go through.
I think it had something to do with the proxy server the school uses.

Yeah I get the error occasionally, doesn't seem to have any effect on what I am doing (posting or PMing) so it's never bothered me.

Hmm ok didn't realise the site itself was hosted elsewhere.
Not a huge issue and is probably due to mail server overload as suggested above.
This particular error would be nothing to do with your proxy settings Xavo.

my mistake, I only took a brief glance at the beginning of the error message.
The one I got started with the fsockopen() [function then it had something else after that.
Sorry for any confusion.
