Whenever I open the game it crashes to desktop with the error "Invalid crew Civilian". I've tried looking for the solutions but the ones I have encountered are either unfinished or really confusing. I wonder if you guys know the solution for dummies?
Help appreciated as always

I havent seen any error anything that like before. But if its crashing at startup it seems like a mod ors gone wrong.
Try starting with no beta patches or mods active as well as rename your arma folders in my documents.

the guys there said it had to do with ACE2, something to do with the UH1Y, do you have it installed?

there is some stuff about the 'invalid crew' error message in there but its quite a lengthy process to fix it.

Yeah I tried doing the thing on FP but none of the pbo extractor tools worked and it was confusing, I might just remove some of the mods.

Hmm. I've tried starting without any mods activated and it still doesn't work.
This person says: "I'm using AddonSync 2009 to keep ACE2 files up-to-date. But, I hadn't used the "Delete extra files" button to clear all the outdated .pbo files from it. So, I had several versions of ACE2 files present in the @ACE folder."
I know I use SixUpdater or something to keep my ACE up to date, but theres no Delete Extra Files button. Still, this shouldn't be a problem if I have no mods running right? Its something to do with 1.05, it worked fine until then.

are you using win 7? if so i remember some1 had the same problem due to the pbo's also being in some virtual drive or something. so check there (no clue where it is) but it is mod related, if nothing else works just do a fresh install (kinda sucks if u got it on steam but)

:P thats why you back steam games up and burn them straight after you've finished downloading the game
