C&C4’s community manager has posted on his Twitter account “C&C 4 beta will be going PUBLIC very soon, every RTS fan in the world can give CNC 4 MP a test-drive”.

With the game due out in March, “very soon” really does mean “very soon”. Good to hear it’s a public beta, too, so everyone (not just those pre-ordering the game) can get in on the action.

Gettin the ball rolling.

As my gaming began with the original C&C and Tiberian Sun all those years ago I can't help but be disappointed by the new things coming out. If only Westwood still existed :( I might try this out, but I just don't think they can ever compare to the old ones in spirit or gameplay.

dam i thought they would stop with three, oh well C&C 1 was the first game i played so i might as well try it, but they have really taken a downward spiral since Westwood stop doing this.

actually looking forward to this. really liked C&C3 myself. Remember seeing a vid on it last year sometime and it looked like GDI & NOD teamed up at one point. Was a teaser trailer, i'll see if i can find it (o;

[edit] - found it!

I like the series nice premise and all that. But really, they ought to bring new life into the game by doing something different for a change. its just been new units, better graphics + storyline times 5 releases since 1995...

as for anything fundamentally new...hmm. they broke ground with their original red alert and cc games but not since imo...

I think Tiberium Sun was the pinnacle of CnC for me after that the entire series took a massive nose dive. I've got no. 3 on my pc and I haven't even finished a 1/3 of the single player missions because well its just not fun. Its still the same game it was 10 years ago. While back then it was ground breaking and new today its just boring and repetitive.

"To play the GDI missions insert the GDI Disc"

yeah i loved the original C&C even played it a couple of times over a com port network, takes me back. but the first red alert would of clocked the most hours out of me, the multiplayer was the best of its time.

2nd vid sucks .... its not a C&C game if you only have 1 base ... seems like halo wars to me

Tiberian sun was developed by westwood, 3 was done by EA. See the problem?

Yeah Westwood designed this other game it was futuristic you went on missions had to go upgrading tech, and visit the saloons for hired guns, was an awesome game in its time cant remember the name of it though.
