BigD Gaming Server Rules

"Teamwork and Maturity Required"

We encourage players to work together not just tactics wise but also in the server. Please take the time to point out possible issues with other players in a respectful manner. If it can’t be resolved then ask for an ingame admin.

GAU - BigD Server's are open to the public and provided for free by Gaming Australia and are administrated by a unpaid admin team giving their free time so we can all have the best servers/games possible. It is recognised by the administration team that the majority of Australian and New Zealand Project Reality players are mature and team orientated gamers, and as such it is a prerequisite that all gamers that use this server uphold themselves in a mature fashion. Anyone who joins our servers and is overtly disruptive or inconsiderate to their fellow players will quickly find themselves removed.

General Rules
  1. Hacking - Any and all types of hacks, third party bots or graphical alterations such as skins will more than likely see you permanently banned from these servers and any other servers that uses the Punkbuster Master Ban list
(over 1000 servers at last count)
  2. Mod related glitches - All mod related glitches are to be reported to the admins. Intentional use of glitches to further your own goals is not acceptable.
  3. Swearing will not be tolerated - Do not type profanities. Warnings and/or bans will be issued for non-compliance. Swearing is not useful and detracts from gameplay so be sensible.

    Teamwork and maturity specific rules

  4. Team work - A high level of team work is expected. This mod is about winning as a team and not getting the highest individual score. If there is no commander teams should communicate between squads via team chat, mumble or teamspeak as to what their intentions are for example who's attacking or defending.
  5. Team killing - Any team kill should be followed by an apology immediately. It is the nature of this game for accidents to happen. Be aware of your surroundings and learn to distinguish between friend and foe. Intentional team killerss are viewed very poorly and will result in a kick or most likely a ban.
  6. Sabotage/Covert Op's - Is an accepted playing style. Covert Ops is a stealth mission and should be carried out in small numbers or even solo. Move in, destroy assets, get out and you have the right to defend yourself if needed. Beware that you must still think of the other server rules that you might break such the one below.
  7. Spawn camping  - Attacking any permanent spawn point is frowned upon, if it becomes a problem admins may take action to move offending players out of the area. Attacking uncapable flags at any time is strictly prohibited. An uncapable flag is a flag which displays a red no entry logo.
  8. Leaking intelligence: Any intentional leak of intelligence to the other team regarding any team asset or intent over global chat or any other medium will be treated similarly to team killing and will result in a kick or ban.
  9. Teabagging - Is not mature and certainly not helping your team. You make a great target and an easy shot. If its gets disruptive or causes issues in game then expect some action.
  10. Global spam - Before a round starts is OK if its kept friendly. During the game a little banter is OK but too much detracts from the game and will be actioned.
  11. Squads not in combat areas - The squad may have a very good reason for being there. Ask them what that is or if they could help out. If they don't respond then try and adjust or get an admin to sort it out. Do not spam global or become disruptive yourself.
  12. Asset wasting - Is looked upon very poorly by all players. The admin team accepts that it is often hard to determine when something is wasted/misused so please remember to think about your team and your fellows players.
  13. Locked squads - Locked squads are discouraged as it tends to lead to elitist groups and other players either don't join a squad and or don't know the game as well as others. 1 or 2 man locked squads serve no purpose in PR and will be watched closely by admins. It is only acceptable to lock a squad at the start of the round in order to form a squad. It is also acceptable to lock a squad for short periods for to hold a slot for when players get disconnected but are rejoining or leave the squad for another reason.
  14. Teamswapping - Admins will be watching for those people that swap teams on a regular basis, especially when it involves assets. If you want to change teams to play with friends then wait until the end of the round and when the other team is down players.

What the community can expect from the admins

In general breaches of the rules will result in a global message either to the entire server as a !s message (e.g: STOP SPAMMING MESSAGES or a !w to a specific member (e.g; IINODDYII STOP SPAMMING MESSAGES. If a player continues to not follow directions they will be removed from the server via a kick. If a player returns following being kicked and continues to not follow server rules or admin directions - they will be banned from the servers.

Ban lengths are determined by the head admins. Generally a 48 hour ban for small infractions or first offences. With permanent bans pending appeal for serious breaches or for repeat offenders.

Admins are not bots and subject to the same frustrations as everyone else. We are accountable for our actions and accept that wrong decisions may be made from time to time. We request that if you want to discuss an admin decision that this is done via a PM to any one of the three head admins not in the forums or in-game.

If an admin is not present on the server then you can contact them through the TS server, MSN or the forums.
