Bit of an update:

Got new DH tubes, had to drill out the presta sized hole in the rims though, and got new rimtape so hopefully punctures are a thing of the past (touchwood).
New gloves and a new pump were also in the sale.

Next up is some lockon grips and a new brake lever/maybe a new brake so I can put a 180mm on the back.

I went for a ride this arvo and I thought I saw you ahead (for some reason haha), so I rode up and it was some random.

Not so keen on the early start though :/

Here's that water obstacle I nearly went OTB at, I hit like a 4wd rut which probably slowed me down just enough to stop it. The hubs were just touching the water before this was taken

Aw that sucks dude. The cops in Melbourne are ruthless, they just impounded my ute haha. And I think they will be taking my licence for at least a year

Rode up Mt Cootha from college just then. Left at 3ish and got back at about 5ish. My mate did it on Monday and warned the firetrail was a bit steep, but jeez I nearly balked out of it. Lot of walking involved but the decent was awesome until we ended up in someones backyard with a lot of big angry dogs.

Ride home was a killer, I got 4 different cramps haha. Gotta get fit.

Mate where is that Gap Creek you were talking about? The downhill from the lookout was bloody fun, but it turned into more XC sorta stuff and wasn't too special, then we got back on the firetrack and were jumping those jump/water bars.

Keen to buy some new bars and a new stem to boot. CRC is having a big sale - you beauty.

Found some nice bars for $15 down from $50 with good reviews, but they're only 10mm wider than the ones I have now. I want to get a shorter stem and wider bars - but the 720mm bars I'm looking at are like $40 which is like $90 all up for shipping and the stem.

Gah!
