the TS I have when you connect to a server doesn't have a port number just I.P. double checked it's that IP, i'm obviously in the wrong server but can't get to big d one!

You have to include the port in the address.

Like this: 125.63.51.203:9984

on the subject of noobishnessness
if i hit printscreen to capture an image of the desktop like Vapos example
can someone tell me the default saved location of the file under windows 7 ?

Print screen wont save the image, it only stores it in your clipboard. You have to paste it into an image program like paint and save it through that.

Alternatively, you can use the snipping tool for win7, which is what I used in my above post.
