Ubi DRM Exploit

Ok so this news has come out about an exploit via a plugin that uplay silently installs along side itself into all your browsers, it allows a remote code to get uplay to activate programs on your computer etc. This will only affect you if you have an ubisoft game of course, but id like to forewarn you to just flatout disable the plugin. I had no idea it was there, but sure enough it was. You can find out how to disable it and test if its active here.

Ubisoft has since updated it to "fix"this issue, but im gonna stay on the safe side and keep the plugins disabled.

what about D3's 'always on internet connection for SP gameplay'? really glad i got my money back from ozgameshop (or was it wowhd?) on that. really wanted to get it but i wont for that reason alone. if i ever played multiplayer then i could understand but for me (and a bunch of others i know), i only ever play Diablo (I, II and would've been 3) single player.

Prince of Persia th forgotten sands was the same, however it is solely a singleplayer game, but for me it was a christmas present but for that reason i have chosen to boycott ubisoft games. (excluding the ones i bought prior lol)

OT cheers for the heads up python.

Rofl, 90% of DRM requires a heartbeat which means you need to have a net connection.

It's why I find it hilarious that companies claim that it's the only way they can make a profit. By what? Causing problems for the people that legitimately purchase the product?

Steam is just as bad, You actually need a "Heartbeat" or at least a virtual one to load it.

Thank god I have a phone that can tether or I would really be an unhappy camper.
