salty, my maplists are only intended for wednesday nights and they are small because i pick the maps specifically.
i tend to stay away from skirmish maps as the lack of fobs and small caps can cause problems. i can see them working as seed maps though for sure, but then skip to the AAS maps once the server builds. I am only talking in respect to wednesday night though. def for other nights a bigger map list should work better, especially with the map vote, but don't be surprised if the same maps keep getting picked. the vietnam map was from someone elses suggestion, but i see you good point noddy ![]()

Don't get me wrong guys - I am poor at skirmish, and therefore don't really enjoy it.
All I'm trying to point out is that there are at least 15 maps we could choose from with different configs (skirmish, AAS, inf). Even if some (say 6 of them ) are crap, that leaves us a lot more than we are using each night. |

Aside from filling the server, isn't about what is or isnt a bad map, it is about what is appropriate for: 1. Seeding. and 2. The number of players currently on.
Take for example, Kashan or Op Marlin or whatever. Both excellent maps in their own ways, however very inappropriate for seeding and low player numbers, regardless of layer. This is where Skirmish comes in. I'm all for playing the maps that don't get played often, but we don't have the numbers or player motivation to support it. Wednesday night specifically is about filling the server, thus a list of popular and server-filling maps need to be played |

Operation marlin was a good map for small numbers, but when people see the larger maps are on the server but dont check the forums they will think its the big version not scrim, therefore not join.
is there a way to make others aware of what layer is being played? other than changing the server name...which then causes the problem when we move off scrim layers :S

Well... the ingame server browser does show what gamemode it is and I'd imagine layer isnt all that important for most

It shows the map and layer the server is on and the next two if you click on the server/server info.
So its kinda integrated atm but a bit clunky. I have a feeling that the PR menu will change somewhat in v1.0, just a feeling .

If the list is in the correct format its just a matter of Copying the list/ logging into the Rdp/stopping FireDaemon/deleting the current list in maplist.con/C & Ping the list into the maplist.con file/saving the changes/restarting FireDaemon/a quick check to make sure it loads without dramas.. and there you go
.There are 9 maplists in rotation atm, that is not one of them, we can save lists into rotation by adding them to the maplist txt files though. Check that things are in the right format and the map names and spacing is correct if you copy and paste lists together, you can have either L's or l's in "mapList" but its best not to mix things up mapList.append operation_marlin gpm_skirmish 16 mapList.append pavlovsk_bay gpm_skirmish 16 mapList.append vadso_city gpm_skirmish 16 mapList.append black_gold gpm_skirmish 16 maplist.append fallujah_west gpm_insurgency 16 maplist.append asad_khal gpm_cq 32 maplist.append assault_on_mestia gp m_cq 16 maplist.append silent_eagle gpm_cq 64 Will chuck that up for you in an hour or so Geks ?.. (pick a time..)

Hey B, just a quick question: Is the sound mod only enabled on Server 2? Last night I got kicked for MD5 tool mismatchsomethingorr ather, and I didn't know what it was but looking back I think it might've been that?

sorry, just saw your post now bahlye.
so to add this list did you have to do all the things you said? or just save it into the maplist txt file? so did you add the maplist and now its just a matter of switching to it? if you havent added it yet, don't worry too much, as it's prob a bit late for tonight.
