Windows 8
Hi all
just wondering if anyone else has obtained a copy of windows 8 and if so what are their opinions.

ive just installed it and am currently enjoying it though at first it annoyed me and i spose it may end up annoying me in the long run but we will see.

also to answer any questions about transfering from win 7 it keeps all programs settings etc and all have worked for me so far but i will update on what programs games etc dont work.

Have the eval at home to play with but haven't had time.

Lots of my work mates are of the opinion that its gay however.

yeah the start menu ui is a piece of ..... but there are a few features i dont mind

The best comparison I have seen is looking at it like Vista against xp.

I really dislike how they made it all module based, And the fact that it's less user friendly then vista was at launch.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

personally i think the ui would be great on a tablet or phone, no so much a desktop computer.

maybe one day we will have virtual screens etc, where something like that would be more useful

^ That's what I actually thought Win8 was aimed at - tablets and phones. Maybe they're trying to slowly merge the two together, so that you have like a seemless portable -> desktop kinda thing?

Like how Macs integrate so well with iphones etc, and how gmail & google go so well with android phones.
