Can we please not have skirmish, I come on Project Reality to get away from arcade game modes like skirmish. Just went on s2, checked the map list and its half skirmish! I mean really anything BUT skirmish.

Well I suppose I could suggest specific maps, but I thought saying "anything but skirmish" was rather to the point.

The thing is (and this has been debated a million times before) Skirmish maps are ideal for low numbers - such as an empty server seeding...

The maps are smaller and the fights are infantry focused, so everyone can get a piece of the action. No need to build FOBs halfway across the map to spawn.

Skirmish lacks teamwork and incubates a team death match mindset among players. This is a result of the lack of tactical decisions available to squad leaders, furthermore team co-ordination non-existent. Insurgency is the "seeding" the mode if you ask me. Don't get me wrong I love playing infantry but the absence of assets entirely is not only unrealistic but counter intuitive if your trying to promote teamwork.

Good God no!

A lot of us don't like Skirmish, me included. But it is simply to build numbers so a larger more appropriate map can be played later. If you boot up something like Muttrah with 5v5 one team caps the other in to submission in 15 minutes and the rest of the map is played like that

Last night the insurgents worked well as a team on Gaza. Not sure where you get the idea that small map = no teamwork.

if your thinking of the same round I am. The teamwork in pr comes directly from co-coordinating assets, whether it be a tank to strong point an assault or motors to smash an objective before you move it. Take those things away and you nerf teamwork. Smaller maps are great, its the game mode that I don't like.

omg, i just have to have a giggle..

you have to learn infantry basics and cohesion of squads from smaller maps where teams can have better teamwork orientation.

you should go join the army or something so you can see how it works IRL..

@ elmo, I never criticised smaller maps. I'll say it again; its the GAME MODE (skirmish) that's the problem not the physical map size or player count, or factions or anything else.

If you like skirmish so much though you can always go play call of duty, same thing, better graphics?

ummm, considering in COD you get a 5 second spawn, and PR you get 30? this is what changes the game mode away from COD

We have rotating maplists these days which change (usuallly) daily , this has largely negated the need for members to have an issue with the same maps being on at the same time of the day for a few days..

Todays list has some seeder maps at the start because someone asked for that to be done.
I love a good skirmish round, sorts out the "I'm here for the toys" from those that can handle themselves as Inf.
People are more than welcome to suggest lists .

Maybe I'm just on at the wrong times, but I've got to the stage where I'll quit rather than play Fallujah West for a while. I'm thoroughly ready for one of many other great maps.

So play on server #2 ?, there are 22 hours of maps before FW comes on which means the auto rotation will change the maplist before THAT happens

Well, Bahlye, I don't know how, but when I signed in last night, both maps were running FW.

So I opted out. And will continue to do so until I feel I've had a sufficent break from FW.

There are a stack of other maps that we could play.
