Also i was just peering on the WAR Z forums and the community is like ten times worse than the community for the new twilight MMORPG. |

Re: War Z
I think only time will tell. Personally I think the only way WarZ has had a chance to get going is becuase the DayZ stand alone has taken so long to be put in motion. I think DayZ will still hit this game for six.

Re: War Z
Apparently not just good at releasing a completely bugged out alpha.

Props to them for not trying to revoke all those keys at least. Maybe there is hope for the company after all? I got one of the "buy one get 30 free" keys from a friend, so I might tinker around with the alpha/beta and report back. If I can get the damn thing working, from what I have heard so far it is practically unplayable in its current build.

Re: War Z
I dont think we should be bias towards War Z or Day Z and just appreciate the games for what they are, Games(And not something political). Sure War Z is in alpha but it WILL get Better as a game(there are doubts) , where the content of Dayz standalone can only increase game mechanics mechanics.
War Z has alot of potential and can be easily f***** up if the War Z dev team doesnt pick up their game and focus it will be terrible. Personally i think War Z has a chance but needs alot of help and good luck to em getting this game running, looking and playing better by the 31st of October which is "Highly unlikely" but possible. |

Re: War Z
I can't see me playing either for long unless one of them has a way to lesson the amount of douchebags only in there to kill the other players or there is a game mode where you can't kill the other players without a severe punishment.
I want to collect, explore and survive the zombies, not be wondering along only to be clubbed by some other player and go down in one hit, just happened to me again, saved one guy from some zombies, only to be clubbed from behind by another guy 2 minutes later. Has happened 4 of the 5 times I've played.

Notch still ended up with enough dough to make a good start on a money fort.

I bought Minecraft for 10 Euros and it's selling now for 20. He's hardly price gouging it, the game just happened to be really really popular. Tbh I have no idea what this game has to do with Minecraft, it's pricing structure is completely different :\

Re: War Z
I haven't paid for either DayZ or WarZ so I like to think of myself as un-invested and unbiased towards either one. I've played a lot of DayZ and a bit of WarZ so far. In the end I'll play whichever is better or maybe even both. I know that many people are curious about this game but are smart enough to hold onto their money and see how it turns out. So I'm posting my impressions here for them, to keep them informed without them having to get the game themselves. So with that disclaimer...
My initial impressions: Game is very very very pre-alpha as we all already know. Crashes, poor FPS, major game breaking glitches, etc. The graphics are more simple, lower fidelity, lower draw distance and ultimately worse than DayZ IMHO. Though in the end because of this it will probably run better than DayZ for those without supercomputers. Unlike DayZ the map in WarZ feels more like a game level. Whereas Chernarus feels like a real place Colorado feels engineered and contrived, there are a lot of places you can't go and convenient unpassable cliff faces everywhere. They are saying that the map is similar in size to the landmass of Chernarus but it feels much less open. The environment is much more sparse. Forests are not dense at all, grass and bushes are smaller and less common. Towns (that I've seen so far) are much smaller in Colorado than Chernarus. Additionally, similar to Chernarus the majority of buildings in Colorado are unenterable landscape fillers which is very disappointing. IMO this is going to make PvP a nightmare. Imagine DayZ but with 70% of the buildings, trees and grass removed. With no cover or concealment and long clear lines of sight I foresee griefing, snipers, bandits galore. Loot is much rarer, only found one gun so far. They are saying that ammo is 3 ties rarer than the guns that fire them. Which to my mind makes zero sense at all. This is rumoured to be an attempt to reduce wanton PvP. However I think it will only serve to ensure banditry as people are going to be so desperate for a few rounds. Zombies are very dangerous, melee with a zombie is not really an option they take tons of hits and you can only take about 5 hits from them, and again ammo is very very very rare. That's all I've got so far. In conclusion I'd say that the game is in a very poor state at the moment and I would advise no one to buy it yet. However that said ArmA has a habit of releasing as a buggy mess. I remember when ArmA initially came out it was practically unplayable. I uninstalled it after about an hour and threw it in the corner to gather dust. But 6 months later it became one of my favourite games. We will just have to wait and see.
