Hi guys! Red Orchestra 2 tabbing out by itself.

Hi guys, long time no see!


I've got an issue with Red Orchestra 2 tabbing out on its own. I finally installed an SSD I had sitting around for a year. So it's a frewsh Win 7 instal and steam etc.

My game keeps tabbing out on its own and I have no idea how to stop it.

I've googled it and have had no luck with any tip I have tried.

My drivers on the GTX 460 are current. I tried setting PhysX to CPU instead of Auto. Run Game Booster and made sure Windows is not doing some update.


Hope someone knows how to fix it.

Oh and since the new install my mouse scorll whell has a really annoying delay. I've got a G500.

It's not the steam community thingy trying to do something is it?

Try disabling it - View, Setting and then the ingame tab

Also, things are going pretty good. It's already getting -10C way up here and there is snow. I should be able to drive on the lake in a month or two.

Nope, turning that off didn't stop it.

Really ruining gaming fun.

I hope to get it fixed before I fly back to work Wednesday. It's getting me killed!

It's not anti-virus being sneaky? Or Adobe wanting to update?

To me it sounds like that sort of thing, a program wanting your attention - BUT it should come with a popup of some sort asking you for something. At least even a noise or something.
Do you have like a keyboard shortcut/combination that you might've forgotten about. The default keyboard in my laptop opens some crazy Chinese character keyboard when I press the move buttons in BF2 (forgot how I sorted that one, but it was in some hardware settings).

Could even be a virus maybe? I'm not too sure though, are your system resources still pretty low? If it looks higher than normal (too much RAM being used) it could indicate a virus somewhere.

No anti-virus installed yet. Have not been doing and dodgy surfing since fresh windows install.

I can also rule out my keyboard. I watched it happen without touching anything.

I would have thought Gamebooster would have shut down updates. I've never had this before. Did not expect any issues after a fresh format and windows install.

What should I try next?

So you're running it from Steam?
If that's the case, I'd go and check all your steam settings again making sure there's nothing there to do it.
Maybe try running it without Gamebooster. If it's supposed to stop updates it could be hiding an update message but still alt-tabbing you.

Actually now I think of it, I've had a few random Alt-Tab moments playing BF2 which I can't think of how they happened as I was always doing something at the time. Probably has happened like 5 times in all my BF2/PR career.

I really don't know Smokey, that's definitely a weird problem...

Yeah I have neither Steam no Red Orchestra so I'm not much help sorry.

I just can't imagine what it could be. I suppose you could try reinstalling the game again.

So, it happens in BF3 as well.

Fortunately BF3 handles tabbing out really well.

I had this problem a while ago, only after Installing the Black Mesa Free game from YES..... STEAM..
Didn't happen when I installed RO2.
Google was no help, either were the Steam forums.
I was planning on doing a reformat anyways and haven't bothered reinstalling the game or Steam on that PC .
No dramas since though.
