Payday: The Heist

Looks pretty much like SWAT 4 but where you play crims instead of cops. Could have potential. Be nice to get the old SWAT 4 crew rolling again.

Release set for Oct 4th.

From what i have seen and heard its more Killing floor in its core game play with the whole cops coming in wave after wave. SWAT 4 had some realism where this looks like its more arcadey

Yeah, it actually looks a lot like L4D too. Having to complete objectives while holding off assaults from the cops. In one bit you have to hold off a continuous assault by cops on a rooftop while waiting for your chopper to extract you which is an obvious nod to L4D.

Does look veeeeery arcadey though which is a concern for me.

Im considering getting this for some coop fun, but looks as though the date has change for release

Steam just says October and its not in the featured items any more

The game is pretty much in good price and just enjoy 4 coops against cops. different from L4D, the alt equipment require certain level to achieve, the M4 carbine sucks BTW. one more thing to mention is the video setting which only have resolution setting. I think it is a semi-game and still need more updates.

Best $20 I have spent in a long time. Definately heavily influenced by left 4 dead.

I'm enjoying it. It's not perfect but for $20 bucks I couldn't have asked for more. BTW the M4 is great I don't know what you are on about.

Just a heads up.

This game and the expansion are on sale on steam at the moment in case anyone wanted to check it out.

75% off for the next 6 hours and 45 minutes.

That makes the game $7.50 with the expansion. One year on and they have added a fair bit to the game and fixed up the few little bugs it had on release. It's still not the perfect game but it totally is on par or even better than L4D IMHO. Its pretty much L4D with cops instead of zombies and you are heisting stuff instead of trying to just survive.

I'd say its the best $7.50 you could ever spend on a game.

I got it over the weekend on the steam sale.
I thought it felt more like a traditional FPS formula game though
the gameplay is similar in concept to L4D in some ways, but not as good.
I'm liking this game though.

Only complaint is the very limited number of weapons to start (like 2) and the slow unlocks of more.
