Pandora Radio

No idea if it's been posted before - but its too good to share.

Pandora Radio, I found it just a couple of hours ago when I was looking for hiphop podcasts. Basically, you type in the name of an artist, genre, album, song w/e and it makes a personalised 'radio' for you. The next song is chosen using an algorithm and knowledge from something called the music genome (whatever that is?). You can also thumbs up and thumbs down a song, so it knows what you liker personally with each vote.

For example I typed in Deltron 3030 (which is an album). First song was from that album, the next song was really similar because a little factbox came up and said they found something that had east coast beats, similar lyrical delivery etc. At the time of posting I'd managed to get to 'Good Day by Nappy Roots.' Awesome!

Haha no worries. I've been thumbing up/down pretty much ever track and as a result I'm getting some really awesome tracks right now.

I wonder if it knows where I left off when I come back to it later?

Pandora, recently became avail in OZ, other good similar services are Rdio, Spotify.

I am currently a paid user of spotify , liking it so far.

Just register man, it takes like 2sec and it works afterwards. I haven't had any ads yet either.

Man its scary how this thing knows my music tastes better than I do.

Went from Deltron, Jayz, Immortal, to Portishead and now Gramatik. This is great! Just need a bit of Aussie stuff in there now.

Currently listening to one inspired by Nicolas Jaar, Thievery Corporation, Groove Armada. Throwing up some interesting names I've never heard of, but they're some sick downtempo electro/house stuff.
