Follow up to epic campaign night.

G'day all , finally just letting you all know I'm planning to do the follow up to the previous epic campaign night. Should be awesome like last time and I'll also listen to the feedback we got to make it an even better event. At the moment I've got a bit to work out such as teams , suitable dates/times , maps , map conditions etc. And how exactly we're going to follow up last events storyline.

For those of you who are new or weren't with us at the time of the last event , Pretty much it's similar to a scrim with a few major/minor differences. For example , it's storyline driven and played over successive maps , with win conditions (e.g Chinese win , British cant cross a certain area due to lack of supplies or something). We also to keep things smooth , co-ordinated and get that really campaign like feel , we keep players on the same teams (instead of swapping after map normally) and in same squads (with obvious exceptions of course). And normally we will also have pre-planning for maps beforehand and/or have warm up rounds to make sure everyone can get in (due to disconnects etc and so people don't get huge lag/stutter bombs when they are in the middle of an important firefight)

Now for those of you who are veterans of the last campaign , you know the go already , I'd LIKE to get relatively the same teams again with obvious exceptions of new additions of course. So far I'm just in the initial stages of thinking this one up , so any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

Re: Follow up to epic campaign night.

Questions:

Is this for clans only like the league, or for everyone?

If for everyone will clans be discouraged or be otherwise affected? (because of things like team stacking)

Will the maps be played all on the same night or different nights? (I remember that 3 maps last time was too much for some people and many left in the last round).

Will I win this time?

Why haven't you joined [WC]?

Where did I leave my car keys?

Looking forward to it.

Re: Follow up to epic campaign night.

I think it might be a good idea to have a 4 map campaign possibly played over 2 or 3 weeks. IE say this Sunday we play the first 2 with there pretty story and there combined outcome affect the next 2 maps played next Sunday. Just a thought the last campaign worked out well people leaving aside.

1.Everyone who's apart of the [bD] community and gets there name put down in time, so yes , all clans that are affiliated with the community are welcome. (also i sent you a return PM with the details you asked for).

2. This is a thing I'm looking at , Vis's suggestion is a very good one but I'm also looking at the fact that on just general normal PR nights lately , some people seem to go through 4-5 maps before they leave , but 3 max or 2 on one night 2 on another seems like a good idea , OR alternatively we could shorten the rounds (is this possible admins?) by say half an hour.

3. Cannot guarantee your safety , especially If Aus asks you to step over the frontline and check the situation while his barrel is lined up with your back .

4. Wasn't sure if you accepted me yet , but yes sir , I'll go put on my tags.

5. Try under the couch.

round times can be changed for special events, it just means that an admin needs to manually change the round time when each map starts. A bit of a hassle but nothing major.

Also dont want the rounds to be too short, otherwise it turns into a major run and gun fest due to trying to get results in limited time or no true result can be determined.

Yeah it just seems to me that sometimes the 2 hour/ 1:30 hour time on each map seems a little much at times.

Also , if people could start voting whether we should continue with CHI vs GB or move onto US vs CHI or MEC would be great.

Re: Follow up to epic campaign night.

Neck the vote mate look at the maps not much of a story if you can't get 2 or 3 maps that are fair, play well, work and can have a story written incorporating them together. Thats how I designed the last one to be as fair as possible by playing 1 PLA sided map, 1 equal to both team map and 1 UK sided map. Ofcourse having the same team the entire way through helped a great deal as well, and no one says you cant play the same map twice maybe a 16/32 player first and move onto a 64 later.

Chickenhawk is a jewel in the rough
Re: Follow up to epic campaign night.

The problem last time wasn't the maps themselves, it was the added penatlies for losing a map that made it an absolute slaughtering. Had there been no penatlies, I think that the UK could esily have won that last one but all the penalties have thier bite. Maybe try 3 balanced maps in prefference to 1-1-1 as before but still enforce penalties

Re: Follow up to epic campaign night.

IMO the penalties offered a different take on gameplay , but they need to be challenging in a fun sense , not gameplay detrimental.
