Anyone been to the F1...

and purchased an accomodation package from anywhere?

Can you reccomend anything? Just been told I'm going to the F1 in March with my old man as mum doesn't want to go (its his wedding anniversary present).

EDIT// As well as me having a look go online, sometimes the best deals are online only. Sure I can get good stuff sometimes but every so often you can find a steal!

What do you mean where am I going? Anywhere in melbourne that is close by to the track.

Will need accomdation from Thursday 13th of March till Monday 17th of March. Flights wont be a problem, my dad flies with qantas every week so we will get a good deal on them without any issue.

Dude wont matter greatly where you stay trams and buses will get you there pretty easy, it's not really that far from the heart of the city 2-5 km's max if I recall correctly.. Melbournes transports pretty good.

Yeah there is a grandprix-travel website or something when you go to the main website. Shows distances and prices for each hotel and what star they are etc. One of the guys I work with just moved up from Melb and said you can get a tram to the gate pretty much so distance isn't really a problem, closer is better though.

Packages for 3 days accom starts at $319 per person. Which isn't all that bad....?

We went to melbourne for the two tribes music festival 2005
Stayed in the uni apartments on swanston st (think it was swanston, heart of the city anyway)
We got a room that fit 4 ppl (2 BR's)
Cost us $40 a night each VERY clean and tidy.

Would recommend to anyone and will definately stay there when I go to melbourne next.
