OK so my Rig is in my Sig and I have windows Vista Business, and I get quite a bit of lag (e.g 14fps if I'm lucky).
Help?

Re: FSX Bad FPS
Playing PR you mean..?-the lag..
"End it all " is a great program for ending background processes before you load PR...(just be careful what you kill/turn off.) Run a tracert and post it up for us as well..(see "GSA DOWN ?" thread ,if you don't know how to run a tracert). With your rig I doubt its a Ram or g-card issue. No one else on the net at your place at while you are playing????????????. EDIT=What is your download speed btw...(ie 1500/256 etc,,check you internet plan for speed) My old "celery" pc with a 2 gig and a 7600gt can run all settings on high with no probs...(re Racemates post).

Re: FSX Bad FPS
what settings are you running eg: res, AA AF updated the drivers, PR is Pretty heavy on the graphics mate of mine have a QX6600 8800gtx and 4gig ram can only run in medium without lag.
Do you get the lag in VBF2 or just PR? Try these steps: 1. set everything to high then bring everything down slowly start with the shaddows, 2. if 1 dosent work turn down AA and AF 3. if that still dosent resolve it then maybe a reinstall or try the cache cleaner which can be found through google. 4. look for other community help 5. play PR heaps ![]() Thanks RaceM81 |

Re: FSX Bad FPS
What settings are you trying to run at because looking at the benchmarks here ( http://www23.tomshardware.c om/grap...=853&chart=289 ) It's generally poor performance across the board.

Re: FSX Bad FPS
Turn down your settings, especially the stuff on the ground (like moving traffic etc). FSX is a bitch of a game in terms of performance, and even with an 8800gt and 4gb of ram, you won't be maxing it out. Though, try updating all your drivers and all the usual stuff that people say that can increase performance.

Re: FSX Bad FPS
Yeah, I thought FSX in the title (Flight Simulator X) would signify that, but sorry for those who misconstrude what I typed. Yeah, I updated drivers all that jazz and I think the bottleneck for the game is probably my Processor because I've heard that the game requires a beast of the processor for max settings. But it runs at the same Frames per second as my x1950pro ran at with the same settingsthough, which I thought was a bit weird.

Or you could try getting a newer updated CPU, the dualcores are cheap these days and if you already have a 775 intel motherboard theres usally a bios update for them. anyway i dont think you will get much more fps out of the game then you have already got, by this i mean if you have same fps as you did before upgrade of the vid card then thats about all your computer is going to handle atm. Goodluck Thanks RaceM81 |

Re: FSX Bad FPS
If your CPU was bottlenecking you before with your X1950Pro. You most likely wont get any performance increase.
Try and turn down the settings to absolute minimum and then see how it goes and then fiddle with the settings until you find the highest playable settings. |

Re: FSX Bad FPS
Yeah I turned down the settings, it seems to be the scenery that's the kicker, so the fps goes up to about 27 which is good, but everything looks so bland!
Ahh well, we all have to find a mix between performance and graphics.
