Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

I doubt I am going to get a answer but its worth a shot

Anyone seen these 2 side by side ?

Samsung 22" 2253BW
Samsung 22" 226BW

The specs are almost the same.

How different do the units look side by side both in style and picture quality ?

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

I have read that the 2253BW is pretty similar (read identical) to the 226BW when it comes with the Samsung panel. However with the 226BW you can, depending on your luck, get a ChiMei or AU Optronics panel for the same price that they charge you for the better performance Samsung panel.

Takes the lottery out of it.

For the record I have a Sammie panel 226BW and it is awesome, not that I have compared or researched the 2253BW at all...

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

I have a 226BW as well.

I always wanted to have x3 identical monitors.
Since I knew the 226BW was being replaced I tried to order a second one from my store but it was to late.

If they look the same and the picture is the same then I can get a 2253BW now and then a little down the track I can get another since they will no doubt be on sale for another 12 months.

But if they look to different or the contrast makes the picture to different then I will hunt down a couple of 226BW now.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

I have dual 226bw's. Unfortunately got a C panel for both, and I am not very impressed. The monitor itself looks awesome, but the viewing angle, and the default colours, are pretty damn poor. Had to manually configure the colour profile just to get it looking half decent.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

The only difference I could see when looking at the spec’s side by side.

Contrast. 700:1 vs 1000:1
Viewable area. 21.6 vs 22
Power consumption. New one uses more power.

Hardly seems worth a model change.

Re: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

I went and bought the new 2253BW.

Style of it is a little nicer than the 226BW.

Picture is much of a much ness.

The 2253 needs to be rasied about 4cm to get the screen level with the 226.

SIDE NOTE:
When I went to set it up in the Nvidia control pannel the control pannel program was playing up and not showing the tree menu on the side.
So I used the Nvidia remove all program thinking I would just reinstall the drivers (and control pannel).

Rebooted and the system would freeze showing a new hardware window.
Not even safe mod would stop the freeze.

Went through the windows repair; it asked for a nvidia 680i file i didn't have so I ignored it. Reboot after that brought blue screen of death.

Do repair again.... wants same file.... ignor... Blue screen of death..

Had to do a clear install of windows..... 3-4 hours of installing windows and drivers all for a monitor !!!!!

Nvidia programs are crap...
There is another one.... everytime I try to run it... system reboots...
