Logitech G15
I'm not sure if this is a problem specific to the G15, or all USB keyboards, but i have a bloody annoying prob where the actual keyboard dos'nt turn on until the computer has completely started up. So i'm not able to use it before windows is up, so if i wanna go to pre start up options like safe mode, or go into that whole menu screen...i can't!

Re: Logitech G15
you will need to go into your bios and make sure that USB power is enabled on startup.
Could also be a driver issue...

Re: Logitech G15
i can't remember the name of the bios option but thers an option in the bios that will allow you to use your USB keyboard to even open up the bios setup which is way before windows kicks in.

So how does one "go into your bios"?
Cheers for the quick response.

Re: Logitech G15
it should say... pretty much the second screen you see when you boot up...
mines like "Hit DEL to enter the bios" but often it can be like F8 or F12 their the most common three I've had to use

Oh My! when you first turn your PC on, when it has the black screen with the white writting, start hammering either esc, del, F8 or F12 depending on which BIOS you use, google your bios for which method to use. start going through your menu items and look for something which will be like Peripherals, USB power etc etc. make sure that the USB is enabled, F10 to save and quit, make sure you hit yes. VOILA! PS don't **** around in your BIOS, it kills whales and makes the baby mohammed cry.

Re: Logitech G15
Lol ok, minor misunderstanding...I CAN"T use my key board then, its not switched on. Its not usable until windows has fully booted. So accessing bios is outa the question.

Re: Logitech G15
yeah you will need to plug in an old keyboard to get it turned on but from then on you'll be fine. i've got like 4 old style non usb keyboards lying around mine.
i think the thing your looking for is called "legacy USB keyboard/Storage" thats what its called on my bios, just enable that with a old skool keyboard then you should be sweet with the usb from then on in

Re: Logitech G15
If that doesnt work you may need a usb hub. i had the issue with mine and it just turned out that when windows booted it could manage the power conusumption of the g5, g15, headset and all the other toys that just killed my usb system
all goes through a hub now and all works sweet. (although sometmes vista seems to think my hub is a usb hard-drive but they know what they're doing so i'll let it be). |
