Looks like you have fried vram. Have you overclocked your graphics card at all?
What is the BSOD error ?

Re: SOS Tech Heads

Do you see those thick vertical lines during post, or only when you get into Windows?

lines come up as soon as power up
just small thin ones on the Intel Load page but then they get big after that

Re: SOS Tech Heads

Strange, it's normally caused by overclocking. But I'm 99% sure that you you have bad vram, especially if it happens during post. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it.

can you list your specs?

Re: SOS Tech Heads

i get something similar in my VMConsole when i reboot my WinServer08 box, doesn't BSOD tho...

[edit] - i should mention, that it appears only when the usualy "Windows is starting" screen appears, part from that works fine.

Re: SOS Tech Heads

Yeah it can happen without getting BSOD, it's not uncommon though.

Sometimes it's caused by heat, but you can normally tell if it's heat related because the artifacts only appear once your pc has been on for some time, or only during gaming.

Re: SOS Tech Heads

possible, normally if that is the case it will happen from day dot as it could be something not seated properly.

Re: SOS Tech Heads

My uneducated guess says that its the video card...
I can't really think of anything else that could cause that sort of problem.

Re: SOS Tech Heads

Yeah, Im going with Video card as well.
If you have a spare one, try swapping them out, this would give you a pretty good idea if it was that Video card or something else

Re: SOS Tech Heads

My last two cards have died on me for some mysterious reason , now i am forced to cope with my downgrade ( My 9000gt ). Take into consideration that i have not overclocked them and the rest of my machine is fine.

My problem in a nutshell
