Re: Project Reality ArmA2

Looks really great, definently will make ARMA 2 worth while.

You can really do some amazing stuff in this game, considering how large the maps are it could be quite interesting. However the game only supports 64 players doesn't it? I wonder how they will handle map size with such small numbers. Hopefully you can increase that.

To me ARMA II is a game with alot of potential. I like how it gives you all these controls, and you can do some really neat stuff. It's the little things that really got me, like the lack of reload animations and the way they held the guns was absolutely spasticated. So much clipping on the first person perspective. Also the CQC fighting felt clunky and heavy handed, the controls means that manouvering your player in tight spaces can be frustrating.

PR team will definently fix this stuff and make ARMA II the game I wanted, can't wait!

Re: Project Reality ArmA2

It's nice they finally made an official announcement about this. I'd get a copy of arma 2, but unfortunately my computer struggles to even play PR on the Refractor 2 engine (the one bf2 uses).

Exiled.

Hahaha. Dude, ArmA 2 can support over 100 players. Infact, IIRC the largest successful player event was 130 players + AI.

Also, what? There's nothing wrong with the weapon holding animations, how are they "spasticated"? I'll admit the reload animations are lacking, but thats a limitation of the system.

IMO to be honest, Im excited as everyone else is about ArmA : PR, but I can't see what the PR team is going to offer ArmA what you cannot already do with ACE2 and some talented mission/script makers.

That's great to hear!

By the holding animations I just meant there is alot of clipping with many weapons. Also sometimes your hands aren't even gripping the weapon, most of the rocket launchers are like that. Its a small gripe I know but something that bugged me

Re: Project Reality ArmA2

That just because people haven't made the custom animations for them.

The whole Dev team isn't abandoning BF2 PR.. Some just have a side project going.

Re: Project Reality ArmA2

well an arma2 PR would be sweet... and everyone will probably go to that eventually because of its size... so BF2 pr numbers will probably drop considerably....... and I did read the post FYI..

Re: Project Reality ArmA2

ARMA and PR (BF2 PR) are completely different games, I'm sure ARMA's PVP just isn't as fluid as PR, it's more of a co-operative sort of game because of it's good AI. Also, a lot more people play BF2 PR because compared to ARMA it's a million times simpler lol.

Well, I gotta hand it to them, this acctually looks pretty damn sweet. Although a full fledged insugency mode over a 64km^2 map could be awesome... 20 Cashes at once and AI taliban anyone?

Re: Project Reality ArmA2

If PR2 on the C4 Engine can look that good (or close to) I'll be more than happy Amazing how existing models look so terrific when transferred to a new engine though.
