PCGamer released some new screenshots of their preview of Operation Arrowhead which will be part of their next issue.

As well as the usual new vehicles and armament, you can now control aerial drones. You can use them to extract stranded soldiers from the battlefield or act as target designators. Aircraft can now jettison chaff to escape missile locks, buildings can be pulled apart in chunks with a new destruction system, and sniper scopes can be adjusted to account for bullet drop.

Developers Bohemia Interactive say the natural desolation of Takistan's landscape means that the game's overall performance has improved, too. We'll have a hands-on preview next issue, but as with ArmA 2 itself, the singleplayer campaign will no doubt play second fiddle to what the community ends up doing with all the new assets.

Re: ArmA II - Operation Arrowhead

Is that a goddamn old school walnut M14?

Also $10 says the first reskin for the German KSK model with the headwrap/Shemagh will be an Aussie SF reskin. A futher $10 says it will be within the first two weeks of release.

Re: ArmA II - Operation Arrowhead

This is all looking rather sweet. The terrain is alot closer to what our Diggers have been working in recently compared to Chernarus, so I can see myself getting more 'emotionally involved' with this one. Can't wait to brainstorm some mission ideas.

Re: ArmA II - Operation Arrowhead

After the announce that Arma 2: Operation Arrohwead will be released on 29th June exclusively for PC, ebanks informed us eJay released a video in the BI forums showing the Town Construction Module included in the expansion.

Quote eJay :
Arma2.pl produly presents Town Construction Set, a new module in Arrowhead - http://arma2.pl/news/73/tylko-na-arm...iasteczek.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gyVO...yer_embed ded

At first, it's still not a final version, and second - I don't know any config options for this (like Civilian Module for example), so I played in deafult settings. It's freakin' awesome to fight with AI in dense areas.

Leave your feedback in the ArmA 2 - Operation Arrowhead forum topic!

Re: ArmA II - Operation Arrowhead

really excited about this release, should be awesome! also expect a flood of media about it now to.

Quote:

4players.de released their preview of Operation Arrowhead and with it 3 new screenshots.
The preview is in German but you can use Google Translate to translate the article into English.
As far as I can tell the preview itself does not tell much new which we did not read in any of the previous, but its worth mentioning the German gamesites seem to be more positive to ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead overall compared to their ArmA 2 previews.

Re: ArmA II - Operation Arrowhead

i think youll find in the end it will still be good to have arma2, since iirc you will still need arma2 to get the marines and all that kit, which im sure people will continue to use in missions (most likely including ACE2) and once all the new OA stuff starts to wear off (talking about the units) then im sure people will start to use some arma2 stuff again, i know ill continue using them just my 2c

EDIT:

new vid by a german group, its in german but has some nice footage.

http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=1589&p k=13838

seriously cant wait for this lol

Arma 2 OA-

Ok, it seems like they're fixing or changing alot of things that made arma 2 silly last time, Like being a milsim, but not having flares!!
and other things like UAV, mission voice acting that DOESNT SOUND LIKE CARP@!

Heres the vid, lots of things demonstrated, including new FLIR with DTS, hitchance and other things!!
