Anyone here play the first? It's a pretty great game.

Not to mention, the second one looks awesome beyond compare.....

i only played a lil bit of the first one it felt too restricted and i couldn't jump

but 2 looks awesome!

ill wait for it to come out, but its looking interesting and unless your a star wars/sci fi mmo fan there isnt much thats grounbreaking or new on the horizon (dont even bring up the latest installment of WoW....)

Played the first Guild Wars pretty much since day one, cant wait for GW 2.

i never played GW, but a few friends did. can anyone fill me in? What differentiates it from WoW or even warhammer online style PvP?

GW is a lot more PVP focused. A lot less grind involved. Although I havent played any other mmo's so prob's not the best person to comment.

As far as I understand, in GW2 missions kinda just happen around you and you can decide whether or not to join in.

So, that would mean that the stuff just happens repeatbly or, once so you can never do it.

There hasn't been much info released on how its gonna work, just have to wait for beta..

It will probably be "instanced". You'll basically be in a zone by yourself, or with other people at the same point in said quest.

from what ive read i don't think it is.. say you and your friend are in an area and an event starts but you have to log off you will miss that event/quest but your friend who stays on wont.

I played a bit of the first game..

I'm not looking forward to gw2.. The pvp is too simplistic and the self heal thingo is stupid. Everyone does everything, removed a lot of the depth.

okay so i pre-ordered ages ago...

played the beta weekends. and it is good. but different from the first GW. its not instanced based like the first it is open world. questing is different then most mmo's and doesnt feel like a grind to lvl up.

as for the no healer class its a bit werid. and got a bit of getting use to. there are some good and bad things that GW2 brings to the MMORPG genre, but i have to say i enjoyed the betas.

i didnt play much pvp in the beta, which in GW1 is all i ever did. so i will be interested to see how they keep the awesome pvp the first GW had!

But as always the graphics are great and not all that system hungry! and again the story telling is just as great as the first GW.

im looking forward to it! should be good and its non subscription so if you dont like its jus like buying any other game.

What guilds you guys playing with? Ill probably run with Southern Cross as I've been with them for a while now. Good, relaxed social guild if anyone is looking for one. It seems liek the type fo game that will benefit from being in a guild for WvWvW warfare.
